Just got back, hit massive rain/hail NB on Macleod then almost hydro'd the engine since Heritage/Macleod was under 2 feet of water. By the time I got to Cemetary Hill where I was gonna shoot from it was pretty much over.

OOP or whatever that Out of Province Inspection is called
I was at work when they issued the warning. Operations calls and says "Suspend ground operations, Air Supply, get inside. Expecting softball sized hail." Got out to my car, left the airport parking lot and BAM! it hit. So I parked in arrivals and read a newspaper until it subsided

I thought the world was going to end out here in Airdrie... one minute sleeping peacefully, the next the wind whipped up and the sky turned purple. That is, until the rain came in sideways with 100 km/h winds and blocked out the sky... which was fine, until the goddamn hail that came down with all the Lord's fury. I feel sorry for the guy with the brand new G8 GT parked outside on the street... I can see the dimples in his sheet metal from here.
Fucking insane right here for about 30 minutes in midnapore. Awesome stuff, I didn't see hail or flooding, just insane wind thunder, and buckets of water.

Power was out in varsity from the middle of the storm until 15 minutes ago. so like 2.5 hours
A bunch of power lines came down near the 7-11 on shag by market mall. The power station by the u of c was hit by lightning, aswell as another power station on the rich end of varsity. It was eerie to see ALL the lights out in a 1kmish radius with lightning cracking above my head.
a whole mess of branches are littering the roads. I saw a sandwich board and 2 newpaper stands blown onto shag after crowchild before 40th ave

How's the flooding in Varsity? That was what drove me to buy a house on a hill, because of flooding all the time in Varsity growing up.

I can't believe how loud the thunder was. I felt like I was in the middle of it all. /soiled
Was horrendous at the bottom of the golf course coming up on 40th near FEO. Was pretty bad near market mall on the south east end going toward homeroad. The worst was up 53rd by the 3 way going into baller varsity. the roads were completely submerged in atleast 3-5 inches of water in the low spots. TONS of torrenting water and water logged lawns.
To be honest I live on the east side of shag and it wasnt all that bad since on my side its natural inclination is toward shag... my area had the electrical issues since we have alot more overhead powerlines.
That was the most scary because a bunch of power lines has come away from the posts... electrical crews were out fixing them pretty quickly though.

I had just left the Alley. Spent like 10 minutes outside before getting into the car and it was fine. Get to the lights to turn south on MacLeod and the wind started picking up. Get near the Home Food Inn, my car's getting sand blasted. Starts raining at Glenmore. Get to 18 Street, and I can't see past my front bumper.Originally posted by forced_eg
holy crap it took all of 10 minutes to turn shitty, i left my garage when it got super windy, got to the end of the road and it started to rain, got to the end of that road and it started to rain hard, got past 16th ave, on 68th street and my windows fogged up, pulled over to turn on defrost and ac and it was so bad to drive that i had to follow the yellow line in the middle of the road to get home... praying that nobody was doing the same because i couldnt see three feet in front of my car... I HATE RAIN, yes it replenishes the grass and farmers bitch alot less, but it just sucks to try to smoke in your car
