Anyone else following this game? I was in closed beta 5 last weekend, another one next weekend. I'm REALLY looking forward to this game.

its a MMO that is PvPvE. Basically what warcraft should have been... well, what warcraft was in vanilla WoW. Remember the days of questing in redridge mountains and you got the message in GlobalDefense channel "UNDEAD ROGUE!!!" and you grouped up in partys to hunt this guy down, then his gang took out the flight masters so there was no escape... now in warcraft, you share the same fucking city with the other faction... fuck that. I want my hatred for the other faction back.

Enter Aion Phenomenal melee combat system , see the youtube vid below to see what i mean - there is a combo system instead of waiting for cooldowns and global cooldowns - also note the killer spell effects for the sorcerers commet at 0:24 seconds in.



This game is balancing pvp and pve so even the tank classes can do great damage - all damage against players is decreased by 40% so you wont be 1 shotted by any one, battles will last a long time.

Worried about the game just being about pvp? No worries there, check out the vid below (WARNING, TURN DOWN THE MUSIC IT IS SHIT!) - that is a 6 man group (partys are 6 man groups instead of the traditional 5) , look at the size of that effing boss!!! Also this game is supposed to have TONS of world bosses!



I'll also add the character customization is SICK. Better than ANY other game i've ever played. Christ I made myself in this game... (albeit the scar is much larger on the in game version than it is in real life, i just have a small one under my eye haha)

Me and my gf just checked out this game last night during close beta, and we think it is AWESOME! We've been playing WoW for over a year now (well I've been playing since release), and we enjoy the pace of the game, character customization, lore and lol WINGS! Thanks for the recommendation, I was looking at AION for awhile now but this thread pushed me a little further to go try it.

If the damn thing would download at faster then ~140kb/s I would be playing right now. Should have downloaded it through fileplanet =/.

Defiantly have high hopes for this one though, need a replacement for WoW/WaR/AoC/every other dissapointing MMO released lately.

Mine downloaded pretty fast. Except for the patch, which DL at max of 130kb/s. Other than that, the client was at 1.1Mb/s.

edit: Ill also add a feature I like, is say you get an awesome looking piece of armor and then you replace it with something else that looks.. well... goofy - you can replicate how another piece of armor looks , so you can customize how you look. No more running around looking like a clown *cough WoW with TBC gear cough*, if you get armor that makes you look like a demon and later get armor that makes you look like a goat, you can stick with the demon looking armor, but have the benefits of the new gear.

Apparently Aion is shaping up to be the biggest release of the year, unless Blizzard pulls SC2 or D3 out before Christmas (highly unlikely). Aion has 400k+ preorders, and apparently a few tens of thousands more this past week.

EDIT: D'oh... forgot to mention: Ariel server, Templar is Velinaras and Sorceress is Ayslynn, all Elyos. My scout (assassin) and priest (cleric) will be male.
