Cool Can't get a job after Grad? SUE!

    http://www.cnbc.com/id/32301202/

Trina Thompson, who received her bachelor’s degree in IT from Monroe College in New York City in April, is suing the school because she hasn’t found a job yet.

    ...

Thompson, who has a 2.7 grade-point average and good attendance record, told CNN she upheld her end of the bargain, contacting companies listed on the university’s Web site. But that only yielded two responses, neither of which panned out.

2.7 GPA and you expect call backs from interviews?

Im willing to bet the people with a real GPA got call back. The school should counter sue for court costs

Also, I really doubt this is going to help her land a job.

This is absolutely stupid. Where did she even get the money to hire a lawyer?

I can almost see warnings printed with my degree:

WARNING: This degree may not guarantee competence.

Shoulda gone in for law studies instead - she might have had a chance at the suit...

If you get a degree from a college that has commercials full of black people who can barely speak English, during breaks in the Fresh Prince on TBS... you can't expect more than a job at a fast food chain.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

Maybe she should stop wasting her time suing people and look for a job.

...After reading the document, given the geography of the lawsuit, I would not be surprised if she won.

Although she seems to be a 2.7 student at math too.

    Ex. 70,000 reimbursement for tuition
    2,000 for stress

Default total if defendant doesn't show: 70k+2k=75k?

    Maybe I'm interpreting this wrong.

If you're talking about the guy with the hat on crooked in the parking lot late at night, I worked in that building behind him in the commercial. It's in Atlanta, there's a college in the building and while the girls are always pretty good looking, it doesn't seem too intense of a program.

wow I can't believe you guys think GPA actually matters in the real world. As long as you have your piece of paper all that matters is work experience. And interview skills and those other 'real life' skills.

Agreed, you don't need a good GPA. A question I have is: WTF does an "IT" degree from Munroe College do in a recession?

Kind of off topic, but I've always wondered what the 'ITT' in 'ITT Technical Institute' stands for.

If the I stands for Institute, and one of the T's stands for Technical, isn't that just asking to have a department of redundancy department file made up for it?
