Default To Windows Gurus: do i NEED to upgrade my RC to RTM of Windows 7?

I just read that Windows 7 RTM is out. There is also a post on how to upgrade from an RC to RTM with a hack. What are the problems that you can encounter from upgrading this way?
Should RC users upgrade? Any benefits? Cheers!

Well... RC is not the final version, so there will still be some bugs and glitches that had not been rectified. Second, it's a time-limited trial which will expire next year.

Personally, I would prefer to do a clean install rather than an upgrade; nothing is more stable than a clean install. Unless you don't have time to reinstall all your software again, I don't see a point to do a hacked upgrade.

    What the "hack"?

I usually don't like "hacks" with my OS unless you know inside an out what that hack involves. Or you won't be using that machine for anything serious.

Last thing you need is a trojan on your system and steal info from you.

You don't -need- to upgrade to RTM but I'd highly recommend it, and if you're going to pirate it anyway, I'd wait until a clean version of RTM is available instead of an RC->RTM upgrade.

RTM is the final version, RC isn't, so if you go RTM now you can continue using until the next version of Windows comes out in 5 or so years, it is final final, released to manufactures and what will be available to general public come Oct 22nd. I got it on 5 of my computers now, love MSDN

TechNet is like $400 a year, and is cheaper than the $700 a year minimum for MSDN.

no, RC keys do not work on RTM. You need a key from technet or msdn to use RTM.
