Default car is shaking, anyone know why?

ok here's the deal. when ever i put my car in park, neutral, or just press the brake at a stop sign or something. my engine starts shaking but doesn't stall. i can't seem to figure it our. i changed mi ignite wires, my ground, my battery, oil changes, checked my belts, and still can't figure it out.

just wondering if anyone out there knows what this is or how to fix it.
    thanks!!!

Does it do it every time you use the brakes?

I agree with the couple people who have said it, I'd start checking for a vacuum leak.

i think you pissed off the hamster in the engine and he's trying to get out. of course only when you stopped cause other wise he would have to jump from a moving car!

Try adjusting the TPS sensor, raise the RPM's slightly at idle. There is a tutorial on teamintegra.net for integras, but i'm not sure that it would specifically apply to civics.

Is the engine running rough, or just shaking?

If it's shaking, but not running rough, then it could be a motor mount

^I also say that its th engine mount.... cause my 88 Honda Accord did the same thing and when I took it to the mechanics he said that the engine mounts were gone...they were $400 for 4 of them!!! I just said forget it and left it the way it is...
I know that when the car shakes its annoying...

Some of the people here are automotive technicians. You have to be a complete moron to wreak something on your car while diagnosing a problem. Fixing it yourself is a good learning experiance.
