Default DIY - spray foam insulation

Does anyone have any experience with DIY spray foam? I'm not talking about the little cans you use to fill cracks and small gaps. I want to re-insulate my garage and am thinking it might be quicker if I can find a place where I can get a kit to spray the wall cavities. I'm not sure where to find them in town. There are a lot of spray companies, but I think my garage is too small of a job to make it worthwhile for them to come out.

I've heard that Home depot rents the machine to blow loose insulation.
I'd give these guys a call and find out what they'd charge. It was dirt cheap to redo my attic a couple of years ago.

You thinking the blue stuff that hardens like on Mike Holmes? I'd probably go pro for that, less time, and experience seems to count in that sort of thing.

I looked into this when we were redoing our basement, i was told spray foam is better for wet environments, and places where the standard pink bats are too big. Other then that most company's told me to stay with the older style for a better insulation job.

We have used Beyond Foam and Spraytek a few times and they have done a great job. The product you are likely thinking about is BASF Walltite but I believe its been changed to Comfort Foam. Google that and you should see some installers in Calgary.

I have heard of Mr.Bibs doing it as well, not sure how they compare from the rest.

Should also add you need to drywall over the foam, it will burn and its highly recommended you drywall over it. Don't leave it as is.

I wish I'd known about this stuff before I did my basement. Woulda loved to have it down here. It's pretty warm now, but I like to overkill on stuff like that to keep the heating costs down to nada..
