Default Best New Building in DT - Opinion

Would like to buy a place, however, conflicted with the decision of which building and/or which area to live in.

The East (Victoria Park - Colours, Union Etc.):
The buildings are more contemporary and new, however, area is not that great.

The West (Stella, Nova, Five West Etc.):
The buildings are still nice (especially Five West) but not as nice as the east, quieter, more established area, good views.

What building do you like best and why? This includes value/quality of building for the money paid, consideration to the location and other aspects listed above (quietness, style of units, etc.).

Would like to hear from people who do or have lived these buildings for insight, that someone who has never lived in any of them wouldn't know.

    Choices:

    Nova

    Stella

    Xenex

    Five West

    Chocolate

    Colours

    Union

    Sasso

    Vetro

(Poll is not working for me).

    Thanks in advance,

    EMAN

Union has a good location, and when i went through the show suite about four years ago, it was nice.

Add to it the condo fees and taxes for a complete picture.

Once you're on the east end of downtown, moreso past the center street bridge, you start to notice more and more bums because of the proximity to the homeless shelter and the salvation army. The redevelopment of the area will help, but the shelters will still be there.

BTW, I'm speaking specifically about the northern part of the core... no idea how the lifestyle is south of say, 9th Ave.

But I lived at Princeton for a couple of years, and currently live at Eau Claire Estates, so I have a good idea of what it's like around this part. Where I am, west of Eau Claire market, there's hardly a bum problem at all.

Also if you're around the Louise bridge, you'll have easy walking access to Kensington, which is great for chilling out.

Colors is awesome loving it. Good area but Starbucks arcoss the street is killing my pocket change lol. I suggest looking at them. Also you gotta be careful leaving the parkade cause bums will try to sneak in and attempt to steal shit just have to sit there till the door shuts.

You live in a fancy new condo, you would expect some outrageous condo fee.

Can't think of a better location than Colours, especially with the area around it totally transformed now. It's crazy how much has been done there in the last couple of years. I think it's a real good investment given that area will be one of the city's coolest in a few more years. I'm sold on it.
Mr. Madison, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Montana is sweet but the prices are really out of whack.
Union square is pretty sweet too.

I really like Castello. Built well, great plans, great finishings, brilliant location. Close to 4th, 1st, 17th and downtown.

Ever consider towers like Encore at Westgate? It's only a few mins from the downtown core and you don't have deal with bums and crackheads roaming around.
