    Dunno, haven't heard anything, but it wouldnt be shocking, they've been laying off tons of their employees lately because of the merger.

    my dad has been stressing about this for a while now, he's been there 15+ years and basically told me this past month or so nobodys been doing shit all, no motivation and no huge projects obviously, he's hoping for a package before they boot the lot of PC employees, i think he said they're doing IBM contracting now (which is a shitty company to work for i guess)

    also all the higher ups have been leaving willingly, the dept' my pops works for feels they've been sold out, huge tension at all the higher-ups going away parties lol

    I haven't heard anything from the gusy I know who work there. But from what I know, they were expecting some to come along pretty soon.

    From what I understand almost one company full of people are getting the axe.... (PC & Suncor.... resulting in the best from the two in one)

    its unofficially official, but they are expecting a combined 10% staff reduction to reduce operating costs.

    If you get to keep your job, most likely you have heard by Wednesday (yesterday)

    If you have not heard, your grade is either very low or you're gone.

    I remember seeing all of the headlines applauding the merger, like it was some kind of good thing, and the disgust I felt.

    Mergers=Layoffs.

    2500-3000 layoffs, half of those will be retirees of whats left 30% will be management roles whats left will mainly be overlapping roles in oilsands and natural gas employes with no defined roles. (Accounting, HR, IT and engineers with projects that have been cancelled that cant be moved anywhere else)
    Packages are minimum 3 months and maximum 2 years. VP positions have been packaged out already, this week and next is managers, and up till and including Sep 15 is all the grunts.

    GRUNNNT!
