Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Might take a shot at Encana tomorrow depending where it opens. Down 25% over the past month roughly.

    Gold

Reposting gold's big picture count. This has never changed. In the short run, was hoping to see gold back test the 200 moving average in around 1250, this still has not happened, and I wont rule out the possibility still exist on the table. Miners especially gdxj has already hit a lower low and I have since bought back half the shares I sold and lowered my averages under 7 Jnug. I am in position and will hold for a couple of months. Regardless gold remains in an over all bear market or not, gold can still break out of this multi-year consolidation and hit the target blue box as a wave C high. I want to take advantage of this and will decide later if and when we do get there.

    GDX

huge gap up on the open, took out the previous triple resistance zone. Looks like wave 3 underway. So long it does not give back to yesterday's level. the Low may be sealed. It needs to continue to follow thru and move away from 21. Failure to hold and diving back under the triple resistance which should now turned into heavy support only means we have yet another new low coming.

Sold and realized most of my mutual fund gains. Should have done it a little bit earlier but oh well. Have been stockpiling cash for the past 6 months for next buying opportunities.

For you guys with S&P500/TSX ETF's, you moving it all back into cash (even with a loss) or keeping it in the market even if we enter into a recession?

Should probably go into the long-term thread but this is where all the posting takes place haha.

if I was still young, definitely buy and hold is the way to go and thats how I will teach my kids. I dont know about others but at my age, I have a plan to maximize my own financial position within 10 years and may consider moving to another country because my wife cant stand the cold in Calgary. Hence This is more of a are you a great life planner vs living in the moment type of person. To each their own I think under the right circumstance both methods can work for you if you know what you are doing.

For sure. What I had meant was since alot of people were selling single stock positions and moving back into cash, I was wondering if they were also taking other profits.

I sold off my other positions but kept my ETF's. Just gonna keep adding to those in intervals and buy more aggressively if the market dips more.

This is what some of the top names in the industry suggest to do. Set aside your monthly investment budget in cash, and then get it in the market when you see a 5% drop. That alone can bring your yearly average return up a few percent.

    Those trading weed stocks.

After a pretty nice run up I think this is just a wave B of a very large ABC, with wave C pointing to lower prices ahead. Still expecting the entire sector to either chop or head much lower. e.g. TLRY into the 40-50s, CGC 30-40s. WEED 30-40 etc.
when I posted this back in March, I was expecting a wave C/2 drop and looking at this sectors we are right into the final stages of the decline. TLRY overshot my low side into the 30s. CGC I would say closer to 33. WEED would still like to see it drop into the 40s. Then we should see the next phase of the rally to begin.

    NEBV

ever since getting out of the way as it looks like a big drop is imminent, that drop finally came. would like to see it at least get to the 4.3x area before scaling back in a position.

    gdx/gdxj

already hit my wave 3 target and now flirting and breaking out from the channel line. if gold/pm keeps pushing could trigger a pretty good short squeeze. Then I'll have to expect this to be an extended wave 3 with wave 4 only to drop back to current levels.

update: selling half my Jnug at 8.495 to lock in profits

For sure. Normally I would DCA throughout but as our bull run looks like it's coming to an end, I've been hoarding more and more cash. Since it's impossible to time the bottom, I'll be buying roughly every 5% drop and scaling accordingly. Big drops means big buys.
