Was this in late July 2008?

Didn't have a camera with me at the time, but my E46 blew the ECU at North Hill Mall. Had to have it towed to the dealership.

E46 is the ONLY car i've ever had that's really caused me major probs.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Didnt want to take pictures and I will explain why, took both my prelude and ITR to Winnipeg for a show, on the way to the show downtown Winnipeg someone ran a red light integra got crunched in between two cars, called a flat deck from Calgary picked it up in Winnipeg 14 hours later, on the way home in the prelude timing belt tensioner failed (auto tensioner fails over 300 hp) towed that thing from Regina back to Calgary. Tow truck total for one weekend 5500

I was 16, watching the 'street races' back in Ottawa.
went to do a u-turn, dropped 1 wheel off the 'sharp edge' of the roadway causing my lowered car to bottom out. Lacking an LSD I just span the wheel that was in the gravel, not moving the car.

Just at that moment 3 cop cars come in from every direction and box me in, accusing me of street racing, and driving wrecklessly which resulted in me putting my car in the ditch.

Before the officers had shown up I already had a call into CAA to come tug me out as my one wheel was just spinning in gravel and had started to sink from trying to rock it out.

I explained to the officer that I wasn't driving wrecklessly and was just doing a u-turn when my wheel slipped off the pavement and into the soft gravel shoulder where it sank in.

Anyways, the cops went over my car, found one tire that had less than minimum tread wear on the inside shoulder (because of camber) and stated my vehicle was unsafe and had to be towed home.

Luckily the CAA guy who showed up came complete with a flatbed, not 30 seconds after the cop told me I'd have to take it home (and denying my request to put a spare tire on, although now I think about it he really couldn't have stopped me from this as it would have made my vehicle 'safe' again).

Best part was, as the 3 cop cars had me boxed in, about 20+ modded cars went flying by, and due to the configuration they had created around my car there was no way for them to get out quickly enough to pursue them. The look on their faces was priceless.

I DID have pics of the whole ordeal (including of my car boxed in by the cops, my car on the flatbed) but that was 8 years ago... I'll check some backups to see if I can find em'.

Hydro Planed on deerfoot last summer in my old Mustang, hit that fancy new guard rail they had just put in. Just about bounced me back onto the Highway. Frame crumpled like an accordian.

I think I remember watching you try and diagnose the issue by the side of the auto x at Race City.

I've always been told dollies can get under slammed cars better from tow drivers.

Sorry these are the 35mm camera days so I had to scan them. This was 6-7 years when I was a teen.

Helped out a family friend haul his anitque (Bentley/ Aston Martin) from near Chicago. (estate sale off a farmer there)

He had a 1 ton piece of shit Ford rigged as a flat deck, and a car trailer. (one of those guys who likes to play poor so nobody jacks him; I mean those 2 cars cost him more than my new school work truck, that's before restore)

So the story is, near North or South Dakota the U-joint on the 1-ton gave out... so he called his CAA (he's an RV member, cuz he owns a huge RV bus too), and CAA paid for a 5-ton flat deck, to have our Ford 1-ton flat deck (with a car on it), and towed the car trailer too... lol (that's the pitch black photos, sorry)

Got U-joint fixed locally, made it all the way to Swift Current, and then the clutch gave after filling up at that shitty Esso, lol...

So he just said fuck it, and got Calgary tow truck friends to get the anitques back home and I believe he just scraped the 1-ton (we took the Greyhound back home from Swift Current, so lucky no head chopping Chinaman on that bus)

    haha! Good thread

I've had the misery of using flat beds everytime I crash a vehicle. Sharing pictures publicly of the tragic events will be the last thing I do.
Those of you who use flat beds to get to the track are very fortunate. Some of us only use them on the way out
