    > i was wondering if anyone has gone camping at any of the "Elbow River Valley Campgrounds" during the sept long weekend? does it fill up quickly?

They are VERY busy and will probably be full by Friday at noon.

If you want a spot without a reservation, most people I know set up a tent on Wednesday night and pay for the extra couple of nights.

All campgrounds in Alberta were fully booked up for the Sept long weekend a long time ago...

Only places you can try are 'first come first served' campgrounds like Ghost Reservoir and other Provincial Recreation Areas that utilize this system.

If you are looking to book now, it's too late.

thanks for the heads up, i was thinking of doing exactly this...

i was thinking of just setting up a tent or have a booked/reserverd sign @ the camp site, and just pay for the extra nights.. i wasn't sure you were allowed to do this, i guess i'll have to call the camp site just to confirm if were allowed to.

yeah i figured all the camp sites are always booked wayy ahead of time for Sept long weekend, which is why the sites i mentioned above are all first-come, first-served basis... thanks

All of the campgrounds on the reservation system still have "first come first serve" sites. Not all of the spots can be reserved.

I would set up a tent.

At least pretend you are camping and you wont have any issues. Putting up a "reserved" sign is just asking for trouble.
