I don't know of any place that sells just the petals. Wouldn't it be easier to pick up some roses and take the petals off yourself?

If you're up for faux ones Michael's sells them in just about every color you can imagine. Then they don't wilt and better yet, they don't stain anything.

According to a site I found, the average rose contains 20 to 40 petals. Even with just 20 per rose, that's 10 roses for real petals.

try the flower store in tuscany, i saw them there a few times.

but what i had to resort doing last time was buying roses and picking it off by hand..,

Nope, that much you'll have to do yourself. It wouldn't be too hard to call them and find out. IIRC, they have two different sized packages of them so make sure you get the prices of both. I dont know how long I'd keep loose pedals in a bag for a trip, wouldn't take too long before they started to look like crap. Maybe try looking in the town you're on your way to instead of trying to bring them with you?

I once bought a giant bag of petals for 20 bucks at a florist in Crowfoot (panda, maybe?)

    awesome deal.

safeway sells decent sized bags of rose petals.. I think its like $4.99 a bag. I would call ahead, not sure if they are always available.
