I would drive two hours to work! If I was getting paid over 150k a year!

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
If any of you are wondering, the hourly pay works out to be just over $12. Probably less once you factor in $60 a month for their admin fees.

get an lcd for anywhere, with the 120/240hz it's superior in all ways.
Definitely don't do it... I don't know how the mileage is calculated, but you also have to factor in the maintenance/depreciation costs of the car with the added clicks.
why?? you can get a job in the city that pays more than that definitely if you look hard enough, or a slack ass job that pays a little less but in the city, must be a special or rare job if you're willing to do that.
what is it anyways OP?
i do about an hour to and from my house everyday from end of deerfoot south to calaway park pretty much, worth the pay for an hour of nonsense every morning sometimes more depending on the weather and/or IQ of the day for Calgarian drivers.
No job paying less than $100k+ a year is worth a 2 hour (one direction) commute. What a waste of a life.
For those that have done it, what was the reason for it? No alternative? high pay was worth it?

My mom's husband used to commute 2 hours each way. He lived in Princeton but worked in Philadelphia. The reason he did is so his son could register in the Princeton (NJ) area schools. I guess education quality varies drastically state to state.Originally posted by kenny

This... I used to live in Pitt Meadows and commuted to 12th and Kingsway every day and in rush hour when traffic was good it was 1.5hrs each way. When traffic was shitty, it was a whole lot longer.Originally posted by revelations
Many people in Vancouver do this, 2 hrs is almost normal.
That said, I would not commute much longer than 45 minutes one way on a regular basis anymore unless I was making large, or only working a few days a week or something...
I worked in Red Deer and had to commute daily from Calgary, pay was fantastic but that drive was a drag.We were selling our house here to move out to Sylvan,i would not do it again.
AWD IS AWESOME!
I would not do it for 22K a year , but if thats the only job out there and bills needed to be paid i would take it until a better job comes along
I commute from Kelowna to Peachland ~30 mins, depending on traffic. My commute from my old place to the Calgary sun ~10 mins. I hate commuting, no matter how long it is.
I like things with wheels.
22k a year?
no fuckin way
i wouldn't even work for that..jesus
Mmm, not a big fan of commuting to work for 2 hours. Definitely not a good start to the day..
When i worked in douglasdale (i live in the NW). That pissed me off as it was (45 min commute). Id go crazy having to drive 4 hrs every day.
No way... my time is far more valuable.
It's bad enough I have a 45 min drive home most weekdays... ugh.
Can't wait to get out of the rat race next summer...
I use to work out of town at various locations. While out of town we'd stay in the nearest town with a decent hotel. But the travel on the first/last day was alway pretty long. Company paid something for milage and your regular hourly rate....In January they sent me to G.P. and I asked not to be flown because who wants to take a hockey bag full of winter clothing on a plane? 7hr drive each way, $700 in my pocket it was a nice drive.
To do it every single day and barely get paid for it seems like they're looking for a sucker.
If it was in a company car and the gas was paid for and the 4 hour commute counted towards an 8 hourday and the good looking secretary gave blowjobs every 45 minutes I'd consider it if I was retired and didn't need money.

I wouldn't get out of my bed for 22K much less think about the pros and cons of attaining the position. So no...don't do it!
E.I. gross is more than $22k.
