    Talking Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread

With the season starting this Thursday, we need to get an official thread going to replace the small talk in the Brett Favre thread.

Predictions for the season? Favorite teams/ players? I cant be the only huge NFL fan on here, lets get some good talk going.

Raiders acquire Richard Seymour in stunner

Raiders acquired Richard Seymour from the Patriots for Oakland's first-round pick in 2011.
Adam Scheter broke the news and the Patriots have confirmed it. Al Davis could have wildly overpaid him in four months if he just waited for Seymour to become a free agent. (Look for him to overpay shortly.) The Patriots know better than anyone that Seymour's play remains solid, but he's injury-prone and isn't nearly as dominant as early in his career. Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren are more integral to their defensive line. There was no chance New England would have re-signed Seymour, and now they get a potential high draft pick in what could be the first year with a rookie salary cap, all in exchange for one season from Seymour. New England's defensive line depth, which includes two good-looking rookies, made the deal easier. While the trade is short-sighted from Al Davis' perspective, it will certainly improve their defense in 2009. Sep. 6 - 11:13 am et

Damn, the rich keep getting richer. Pats get a sure top 5 draft pick in 2011 for a aging, injury prone player about to leave in 4 months anyways.

I am looking forward to going to some games this year. Last year I went to my first game in Buffalo. This year I think Boston and NY are in order.

are you just picking out right winners or calling the spread?

I havent had time for my sportsbook this sunday, but looking at your pics, I agree with the exception of the SF/ARI game

and I agree, San fran always plays well against the spread and just well in general against ARZ. That is a game I stay away from always.

Indy didnt cover any spread so the payout is zero. Unless sports select pays out now with one loser. Not sure as I dont bet sports select as it is not as good as website payouts. Dont also like waiting in a ne office for 8 hours while the retards that work for the WCLC process my tickets. Anything over a $1000 is a damn hassle to collect

Did anybody see that sack in the Greenbay game where the lineman jumped over and ran down the QB? I dont watch football often but I stood up after seeing that lol. It was crazy.

    ^^

    sick play,

but the play of the week goes to All Day/Purple Jesus/AP

4th quarter on a hot afternoon, hooked up to iv's to fight off dehydration, blood soaked jersey, and he's tossing defenders out of the way like he's playing a JV team.

yeah the eventful end made up for probably the most boring game up to that point.

    quote from cbs:
"A half hour after it ended, a Bengals fan in an orange Rey Maualuga jersey sat alone in the otherwise empty expanse of green seats behind the end zone, staring at the field, trying to comprehend what had just happened."

the guy probably lost a ton of money cus of that play

Go Broncos! So far so good. I hope Orton can keep progressing as a QB. I see us in the playoffs this year!
