Macbook Air?

Does anybody has this here? What do you guys think of it? Worth the money? You can get a Macbook Pro with better specs for couple $100 cheaper. I dont do any gaming or anything my computers just basically lot of browsing, downloading, iphone (music, apps, videos etc) syncing. Would you guys think that the Air should be good enough for these? Obviously I'd have to buy the dvd rom they have seperate its $100, which isn't too bad and just plugs straight in your usb.

its hella nice little gadget, but too pricey!
if you move around a lot, and have limited space then i'd consider it, but if you need a cdrom then its no longer really portable to carry both together. I'd say get the 13" MBP they're hella portable too, and has a cdrom built-in. Much faster processors justifies getting the MBP.

I chose the MBP over the Air. The specs are better and price is better. The MBP is very light too.

That's what I think to, I mean practically Pro is clearly the better choice, but the Air just seems so cool. lol Plus the way I look at it, it would solve my purpose quite easily. I mean I barely use the CD Rom even right now as it is. Also I read somewhere that Apple was to come out with an all touch-screen tablet with iphone like interface. I would kick myself if I end up with either a Pro or Air then that tablet get's released. Not even sure if that was just a rumor though or if it's actually going to be released.

apple is so damn tight lip about their release, so no point waiting, just buy it!

I was considering the Air - However, the battery life blows. Apple claims 5 hours, many independant tests show that these laptops only last 2.4 hours, and thats conservative use.

Not to mention it's over priced. I'd consider a Lenovo X301. Almost as skinny, and a CD-Rom drive if you need one. (Honestly, it's 2009 - who uses CD's anymore?)

Is this computer made the Apple. Or is is similar. Where is it made? Does it come with the Apple Care Warranty? Is the Warranty honored in the USA.?

The only thing that I don't like about the MB/MBA/MBP 13" is that the screen is too small for heavy work...I'd do a 15" MBP unless small and light is what you are really after and can hook into an external display when using it for long periods...

dell adamo (sp?) is a nice alternative, now that they finally lowered the price to match the air.
Then again, if i was looking for a mac, there's a reason why i won't even consider PC alternative, because I don't want nothing to do with windows.
I know some people may say yeah you can install osx on a pc, that i'm well aware of, but to me its not worth the hassle, because everytime there's and major update, there's a potential that your computer will not work.

I'd avoid the Air TBH, a proper MacBook with a decent amount of ports is cheaper, hardly bigger, and from what I've seen, holds there value much better used. Air is for flashy n00bs. Or people who really can justify having such a useless laptop for the $1700+ they ask for one..
