There is a community in the south that is absolutely stunning. Someone will know what the area is called. One of the nicest areas I've seen in the city.
It's south of Glenmore on Highway 8, about 5-8km out of the city. Has its own golf course there.

Is that the area where Griffith Woods park is? If so, that is definitely a nice area.
Griffith Woods is in Discovery Ridge. Which is south of Highway 8. Weapon R is talking about Elbow Valley. Elbow Springs Golf Course is part of the area.
Calgary is so much like an iphone: iCalgary - There's a bylaw for that.
Yes, Elbow Valley. Beautiful area with amazing homes.

I'm not a big fan of Elbow Valley (don't get me wrong, if somebody offered me a house there I wouldn't say no ) but I find it kind of cookie cutter. Spring Bank and Bears Paw aren't bad, but needs more trees.
I prefer the areas in the city that are more established like Pump Hill, Mt. Royal etc. Sure they may be on smaller lots but every house is unique. Oh and trees.
Everytime I head to my parents in Invermere, I really look forward to this part of the drive...beautiful houses there.Originally posted by Weapon_R

Depends on the part of Elbow Valley you're looking at - I've seen some pretty damn unique places in there. And they're monsterously huge inside.Originally posted by KrisYYC

Did anyone say Chestermere?
I am quoting some projects in this area. Amazing homes! I came across a $2.2 Million bungalow! Very nice! lolOriginally posted by nosegrindR

Beyond's Most Wanted
This is a show home in Westminster Glen under construction in '03.
evergreen in the SW lol
A real nice lookout/viewpoint is in Nosehill park... along 14 St... turn off is just after North Haven Dr if you are heading southbound on 14 St past 64 Ave NW.
Wicked spot... you get a good view of downtown and the sprawling NE... plus the airport too...
This is a great spot to check out at night too... or even better, at night during a wicked thunderstorm... awesome!
1) where are your cousins from, that may set the bar on what's "nice" to see. Calgary can be relatively ghetto compare to a lot of major cities.
2) what are you going for? City landscape or house hunting?
