Spotted: BLACK SERIES SL 65 AMG

Well, I should mention that this wasn't in Calgary...and not on the streets. It was in a random auto show inside the atrium of an office building in the New York Financial District. Were models from MB, Audi, Jag, Bentley, Caddy, Tesla & Range Rover.

Really was not expecting a showing from a Black Series. Wasn't behind any ropes or anything despite the $300,000+ price tag. Pics do not do justice to the VERY agressive stance of this beast.

It definately looks more concervative in black, kind of hides the exagerate lines a bit. But I think one of the best things about black series cars is you have to be in the know to figure out what its worth. Not for the typical lambo buyer

Agreed 100%, The new SL's look amazing.

SEC's were gorgous, for some curious reason I like the 82-85's over the 86+ ones.

Agreed, it's more of a "sleeper" supercar. That's totally why I'd want one. My mother would never know what it was or how fast it went, but all the beyond ballers would respect it.

Unfortunately none of the beyond ballers respect that your mom would prevent you from getting a more flashy supercar.

This is definitely my car of choice if I'm spending this much. The understatedness is all the more reason to get it, regardless of whether ExtraSlow's mom respects it or not. Black is the best color I've seen this car in. I'll take 2.

Thats so true. While I was there, a few people were walking around the MB displays, gawking at the other six-figure MBs (CL & S) This was till they came to the info sheet on this car. It wasn't a look of "wow", rather a concerned one that someone had mislabeled the price tag. No one was convinced that this 2-seater MB was worth more than the Bentleys displayed downstairs.
