Default Paid to leave your PC on?

    Anyone try this?

Supposedly you get paid a few pennies an hour to leave your pc on. Saw an ad on myspace for it. I just started using it today, so far i havent earned anything but since i leave my comp on all the time i figured id give it a shot.

it's funny how paranoid people are... honestly, nobody gives a shit about hacking in to your PC to get you CC info and defraud you for $500 and then go to jail...

clicking a link will not send your nude bathroom mirror pictures to the internets.

since half the people here are paranoid, and the other half dont know how to click the FAQ button

How much money can I expect?
Green PC pays approximately 0.05 to 0.15 cents every hour while your leave your PC on. Newer computers with updated technology will earn a little more than an older computer system. It doesn't seem like much but if you do the math as done below you will realize it is more than a beneficial application and best of all, its free and you're doing our environment a favor!

    $0.05 cents x 24 hours = $1.20 per day or $36.00 per month.

You are paid via Certified Check or Direct Deposit every time your account reaches $100.00 USD.

A few factors when finding out how much your computer can earn:

    1. Speed of your internet connection.
    2. Amount of resources are available on your system.
    3. How updated your computers hardware is.

If you have a newer system with a cable internet connection you will see exceptional results.
Why do you pay out in $100.00 dollar installments only?
    There are several reasons.

    1. The cost of mailing a check.
    2. The cost of printing a check.
    3. To regulate the amount of checks mailed.
    4. Security purposes.

We are an environment friendly company and therefore we prefer to save paper and the cost of mailing a check every $30.00 dollar accumulation.

Who is using my computers resources?
Keep-it-on.com shares your computers resources with its client list. Many consist of post secondary schools and IT businesses across America. Such places don't have the time or computers to render and compile certain files. We spread the job across hundreds of computers to get it done in a timely fashion. Rendering some files can take days on certain systems!

    Is it safe?
Green PC is a 100% safe application. It does not open backdoors nor share your systems resources will unverified sources. Keep-it-on.com guarantees your resources are used only by top quality companies.

How does Green PC make money from this?
We make our money from our clients using your resources as well as the advertisements displayed on our web site.

How is Green PC better for the environment?
When you leave your PC idling, its not doing anything but wasting energy. With Green PC running, you are turning your idling time into pocket change by sharing your system resources with us. We reuse these resources and pay you a small amount to use them.

Will Green PC slow down my internet connection?
No. A single install will not slow down your internet connection at the very slightest. You shouldn't even realize the application is running at all.

    Is Green PC available worldwide?
Green PC can be installed on any compatible Windows PC located anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Direct Deposit is only available within the USA, Canada and United Kingdom regions. All other countries will have to accept a mailed Certified Check for their payments.

Can I install this application on multiple PCs?
Yes. It can be installed on multiple computer systems with no issues. Please keep in mind that if you are sharing your same internet connection with more than one computer, it may slow down your internet.

Does Green PC contain any spyware or include any bundled software?
No. Green PC is a 100% clean product. We do not include nor endorse spyware, malware or data collection software in our program. Green PC does not come bundled with any third party applications.

Tell that to the guy who got ripped off of $65 from the last link the OP put up... oh wait that was me.

(yes, my fault for not having more due diligence, but still, it was the OP's link)

It doesn't seem to explain exactly how this works but we took a look at it in university about 5 years ago. Basically on every machine there are thousands of computations happening every second all the time. These computations use CPU cycles but some cycles get truncated and just lost. They don't get used, nothing happens to them, they're just lost, hopefully you have an operating system that is efficient enough that there aren't too many lost cycles. But anyway, by installing this it simply allows them to use these lost cycles that your computer can't use for doing mathematical computations it would take years for a single computer to do. It might take your computer a week to do a single equation but with all the computers they're using it adds up.

They have the same thing for cancer research, you can donate your unused computer cycles by going to some website and signing up for it. They use your unused CPU cycles to do algorithmic testing for cancer research. There's actually a thread here somewhere from a few years ago about signing up for it.
