    Default Furniture Stores

The wife and I are looking for a bedroom suite (King) and we're not having much luck finding something we like. I'm wondering if there are some places to look that we just haven't thought of. Already done are:

    The Brick
    Leons
    Sears
    The Bay
    United Furniture
    Bondar's
    Lazy Boy
    Crossroads Furniture
    Fair Deal Furniture
    Amber's Furniture
    Ashley Home
That little place right beside The Brick on Macleod Trail (just North of Southland Drive)
    Ikea
    Revolve

There may be one or two more that I can't think of. Any other ideas?

    Home Evolution
    Soho + Nada
    4 Living
    Restoration Hardware
    Inhabit

Those are a couple more I can think of off the top of my head. I'm ordering a couch and 2 chairs from Sojourn tonight.

    Traditional for the most part.

How much are you willing to spend?

Restoration Hardware in SouthCentre has some AMAZING bedroom sets (solid cherry with dove tail joining) but will run you around $10-12k for a bedroom set. That said. The set should last a few hundred years if taken care of.

Crate and Barrel opens in SouthCentre next week. However it might be too contemporary for your style.

Personally, I am a fan of clever traditional furnature, which usually becomes timeless in its character and function.

Ultimately, if a piece is functional, and has the asthetics I want... I'll often times look for that "timeless" design with a modern flare.. Modern fabrics, ergonomics and colors

I.e. I have a full sized Oak mission table with a ratchet system and 3 large leafs and 6 chairs
That being said... the ratchet system is new, the chairs are sleeker w/o any victorian remenance of design, and has a full espresso stain, which still reveals the grain of the oak.

I go to many places... in this case, I got Solid Oak Superstore to build it, as utialize vendors that Bracko and Bondards, for a much more competitive price.
*I go to the one in deerfoot meadows*

That being said, I bought a bedroom set from Bondars, as I found a set that to me was unique and built to the standards that I associate to quality furnature.
http://www.brownstonefurniture.com/ -> the Campaign Bedroom Set

Our couches were custom made by Ethan Allen, of which again is a great shop that allows you to ultimately customize their collections.

There are alot of places to go, but I'd sooner be dead than be seen walking in the Brick or Leons where they con customers into spending hard hard earned dollars purchasing sawdust (MDF & Particle board) furnature.

Even places like Ashely (formerlly Palliser) and EQ3 (which is palliser) carry nothing but poor quality products... they just happen to market well
Its Veneer over MDF with low quality hardware and rolling mechanisms.

Try to find anything dovetailed at Ashely, EQ3, heck even Revolve
(or a solid hard wood at that, or one without a veneer)

For me... my first place to go for my home furnishing (including kitchen) are:
    Bonards
    Home Evolution (bondards as well)
    Urban Barn
    Ethan Allen
    William-Sons
*Crate & Barrel USA, but now Southcenter *
    Restoration Hardware
    dwr.com

Places I go for "items" that I think are sufficient for particulars:
Ikea - Certain cookwares, such as their "senior" cast iron dutch ovens, Diamond Coated knife Steels, and cooking utensils, which I find to be more ergonomic than the Calphalons and as good as the Henckel Twins (Zwillings). Cutting boards, and certain "clever" items such as their strainers etc...

Barbecue Galore - My weber kettle/smokey mountain cookers

Geneal kitchen supplies - My anadoizzed aluminium pots & pans, and Knives (all much better prices than @ retail stores)

Home Sence - Now that's where you can strike a bargin if you know what you're looking for and do price comparisons!
I found a 7" ceramic Kyocera Santoku knife (black) that retails for $120ish typically for $39.99

I also happen to buy my flatware, dishes, and linnen there. As well as accent pieces that are can be found for quite a good price.
I don't mind when the other half buys her candles there, at least its not breaking the bank lol

Go check out Bondars - a little in between contemporary and traditional or Cricklewood
