    Default DRLs comes on when it's cold???

    When I was going out tonight, I noticed that the DRLs of our 95 Odyssey were on even when the car was off and the headlights were off. I went in the car and played with the headlights and it turned off. However, another 2 hours later they came back on automatically.

    So before anyone says Google, I did and found this problem in Corollas:

    Anyone know what would be causing this? This is the first time this happened since we bought the car brand new in 1995.

    Could be the DRL relay. Sounds like it's getting stuck.

    yeah check or replace the relay temperature affects them greatly

    just like the typical honda fuel pump relay problem it's usually solder connections that kick the bucket, you can diy by opening up the relay box, which in this case is another mitsuba usually in a gray box with blue connector end to the right, says running light relay iirc. a burnt out headlight bulb can throw the drl but in your case seems like the relay, honda uses this in almost all of their 90s products, even acuras.

    you will 9/10 times find the problem solder joint, burnt/darker or has barely any solder. so a solder gun/solder and some isopropyl to clean up it should be good as new.

    It's the DRl relay under the dash, happened in my old 95 Accord

    I'd need the wire diagram to tell you that but it's not worth my time. How clean are your ground wires? Look at cleaning those up. Could solve the problem too.

    the relay would be stuck in closed position you mean? keeping the lights on, there might be a problem in the coil, where something isn't letting the field collapse after shut off putting the relay into its n.o state = shutting off DRLs and then somehow leaking current through to charge the coil and switch the lights on again after that 2 hours.

    i would still check the pcb for shoddy solder joints first though before going ahead and buying another, it's free to check right?
