Just ask for their ID and you'll know for sure.

    But yea this is ridiculous.

This is why I don't think law enforcement should sell their decomission cruisers to the public. I am sure they can sent it back to Ford and those parts can be properly recycle or sell it to another government agency with lower budgets.

Yes pretty much. There should be no reason why a public citizen needs to have access to duty belts, cuff pouches, handcuffs, cuff keys, duty boots, police patrol bags etc.

If your job needs such equipments the employer should have authorized suppliers to supply such equipments and employees should have access to such catalogs if they want to purchase additional products for their work that is not cover by the employer.

However with internet now a days, its next to impossible to control/prohibit anyone from owning anything.

Sooooo should Ford dealerships be allowed to sell Crown Victoria that are white in color?

Should sporting goods store stop selling camouflage clothing? (forest green patterns, cuz it looks like the military)

Should I get a license to be allowed to buy a 4 D-cell Maglite at Canadian Tire?

    Just curious

Power trip, that's all it is.

I worked with a guy at London Drugs back in high school who weighed about 300 lbs but was absolutely obsessed with police stuff. He bought an auction cruiser, had a CB in it and everything. Used to be on the RCMP "Youth" squad.

It's idiots like that who want to be cops and think they're doing some kind of public service that go pulling people over.

I don't know, but if I got pulled over and knew he wasn't a cop, I'd arrest them, it would be violent.

Years ago in late '80s - a friend of mine have a friend who bought a used Ford car (ex-police undercover car - lol) and they went into a second hand store...bought red/blue flashing lights with wiring. He and his friend had giggles stopping only the pretty drivers (note: GIRLS) for couple days.

I've seen them in action and thought was crazy. My friend actually got phone number from one girl there! Afterward had their fun and got bored fast... they stopped that since ever.

Of course, I'd ask for ID first if I was stopped on road, open my window a bit only. Too much crazy stuff out there. Can't trust strangers in unknown locations!!

Impersonating a police officer is a self correcting problem.

All it will take is for one of these guys to pull over the wrong guy, ie. a gang member, and have their face shot off.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.
