Default Where to buy deer meat

Since my uncle that hunts moved out of the country, I have no where to get deer meat from anymore. Does anyone know if there's a place in Calgary that sells deer meat, specifically deer sausage and deer jerky

I love game meats, but I currently don't hunt. I've seriously considered taking it up just for the meat. I figured a couple weekends a year would bag me enough game to fill a freezer pretty easily. Since I'm not worried about trophy kills, it's really easy to find elks and deers.

But if I could just buy it for a reasonable price, I'd be much happier.

Check with the custom butchers... A lot of them will be in the process of butchering kills right now. I know the one down there on 58th ave - little west of blackfoot often had deer elk and moose for sale...

I thought Edelweiss may have sold it there. There is also Rocky Mountain Game Meats. As well if you are after burger patties, you can buy wild boar, elk, etc at Burger Inn. I believe they come in 12 packs. I can't remember.

    also try this out

For now I will wait until my father comes back from hunting and I can raid his freezer when the butcher is done with his kills.

I just BBQ'd some Bambi Brattwurst a couple days ago. Fuck was it tasty.

On a sidenote, does anyone know any good butchers that will slice up and prepare your kills in the SE or SW?

Awesome. I was about to post a thread for deer. My family from nova scotia just brought some steaks and sausages. Amazing love it and have been craving it.
