Default SR20 Manifold gasket leak or turbo gasket?

So i have an exhaust gasket leak, and im trying to deduce which one. Iam finding most of the "soot" to be deposited on the engine block itself and it looks like the mani-gasket is pretty fresh. Is there any easy way to tell?

PS: im guessing ill see both in order to even get at the manifold gasket correct?

Either way, All that stuff will need to come out, So when you do that you will be able to see what gaskets need replacing.

Usualy its the turbo to mani gasket that goes, Check for loose bolts or missing studs on the exhaust mani. Is the car louder at all? Like I said though...If you know 1 gasket in there needs to be replaced take the turbo/mani out and inspect the gaskets to see which has blown out..

Thats what i was thinking. The car is louder, it sounds like a shitty truck or something of that magnitude. .

Ill pick up the turbo->mani gasket and see what i can do.

Yeah my guess then is the turbo to manifold gasket..If it already hasnet caused a boost leak aswell it will soon and the car will be reall slow..If by chance it isnt that one it could be the turbo/ turbo elbow gasket so be sure to take the elbow off and inspect the gasket.

When you do replace this, which you soon asap, Be sure to get 300zx locking tabs for the nuts that bolt up the turbo if it dosent have any, If not it will happen again and you'll kick yourself in the ass for having to do it again lol

Make sure if you are removing the manifold to do that gasket, which you really have no choice, you get a good manifold gasket too. Spend the extra cash and get an s14 or even an s15 manifold gasket, they are a multi-layer reusable gasket.
