I actually checked online at Future Shop and they had them in stock. So I headed there after work and grabbed a copy.

Pretty fun and a refreshing break from MW2. Only managed to play about an hour of multiplayer so far. The maps are enormous. Played some of the conquest and squad deathmatch and it was alot of fun. Can't wait to start unlocking some of the other guns.

Yeah I played a bit too, its a lot different than MW2 but its kind of cool. I am doing the campaign first just to get a hang of the buttons as they are a bit different, I keep trying to knife by pressing the joystick and its R2....the maps are huge!

Did anyone get there VIP map download to work?

Anyone know how to shoot the machine gun on the UAV? Also what's the best way to take down choppers?

Played on xbl last night, man I love RUSH mode... myself, my brother and a random person who joined our squad were just ripping it up. It's so much more fun doing things as a squad then by yourself. Especially sneaking around the outside edge of maps and charging into a building full of snipers. ah good times.

There's a vehicle specialization for extra armament on vehicles and helos, in a tank as the driver/gunner you get a mg to play with, bmds and bradleys get a tow missile iirc to I wish you could use 2 at once, a fast reload perk and improved optics together would be killer.

Easiest take down for choppers is the tracer dart IMO, which is hard enough but a no fail kill, which brings me to the airplane thing, bf used to have airplanes but they were too powerful, even the damn minigun on a blackhawk is a little much for people on the ground, probably why they didn't
give us any fixed wing stuff this time around.


Nate, the ea logins are fked even now, they're switching to dedicated machines to run the servers this weekend supposedly, still 50/50 on connecting to a server for me tonight, so when you get in one, try not to leave no matter how stacked the teams are.

Sweet, I will try that add-on since I've unlocked everything for vehicles. I have the extra armor on right now, might keep it since UAV is always taken anyway. I don't think I've used my pistol yet so I'm going to switch that to the tracer dart. I was already going to do that but didn't think it would work for choppers because of distance.

the tracer only really works with the effort of your teammates, hope that they actually use their rpg/carl gustavs, I actually have gone hardcore engineer since release and running around with a carl g and tracer darts makes quick work of an abrams cause if you want something done (ie no one uses your darts), sometimes you gotta do it yourself, ya?, and that moment when you stick a dart on the tail boom of a helo and see 3 missiles simuntaneously fly at it in the sky, that right there is a sight to see lol and an achievement itself with the only reward being the smirk on your face when the thing explodes midair

Lol I read the dev post on the ea forums saying pc mp players have came in droves for the new bf, very happy to see the og guys come back to support this game as much as this is missing from this game compared to what it used to be , I can only hope bf3 will state it's official release sometime this year, we need commanders, supply drops etc to make it the real deal, but I'm impressed with this game so far everytime I play mp, brings me back to what it used to be like with the ability to create your own set of 'war stories' and moments that couldnt be reproduced in many other games bar none.

I tracer dart all the time when I'm medic, but team mates never seem to notice. How do you use the lock from the dart when you do fire RPGs? You can't just shoot at the sky and expect it to track the locked heli can you?
