Default any SHAW internet experts here? HORRIBLE SHAW INTERNET

We currently have the 5/5 shaw business internet at work.

we never get the 5 upload, max we will get is 3.8

regardless, for the last 3 weeks something happened were our upload is only 200-800 kbps

    shaw replaced the modem
and came did some tests cant figure it out

we by-passed any splitters and its the the same.

the signals/RF is perfect they said.

we havent had a call back and just broken promises of fixing it.

we done speed tests on many speedtests report sites and all consistant.

you would think for 300/month it would be better service

    thank you all

When you do your tests are you connecting one computer directly to the modem? I assume you are, but should ask.

Could be many things, from premise wiring to mainline to headend to hubsite even... Keep booking techs until it's fixed, as each time it goes against the 'stats' and they send a more senior service tech, then mainline, etc etc.

You can also PM me your HFC MAC ID from the modem and I can track your RF stats.

    modem to servers. (2 servers)

we have a dlink DWS-3026 ($4000 switch) its not that switch causing the slowness, you can take a notebook computer and connect it directly and the speed is still the same.

Your signal levels right now are WAY too hot. What changed between these dates? Levels of ~0 Rx and ~44 Tx are perfect... So either someone is messing with the inside wiring, you had service calls around these dates, or there's mainline/amp issues in your area. If someone removed one of these that says "12dB" from the back of the modem, put it back on

    Date // Rx // Tx
    2009-10-07 // 6.90 // 37.40
    2009-10-08 // 1.00 // 44.20
    2009-10-09 // 0.95 // 43.70
    2009-10-13 // 0.80 // 43.70
    2009-10-16 // 12.60 // 31.20
    2009-10-20 // 12.90 // 31.20

The good news is there's no packet errors and your up/down SNR appears fine. "Swapping the modem" isn't a servicecall, it's being lazy or running behind on your run... Call support, if the TSR tells you the (red) signal levels of 13/30 are "fine", ask for TSR2. Make sure the service tech uses his signal meter and actually checks your wiring, connectors and splitters. I'm willing to bet the recent weather changes shifted or corroded some connectors. Unfortunately Shaw has plenty of lazy service techs, so it may take a few calls to get the questionable premise wiring or distribution connectors/tap changed out. Book your service call for a nice warm day and ask for a senior tech, since you're a business (with an SLA?) so this is costing you money.

I had weak signals at some point, tech guy from shaw came and check wiring at the back of my house. He said the cables in the back is bad, so he replaced it, and internet worked flawless after.

hi thank you. they put a attenuator and took them out. but the problem started way beforethat. i think they were trouble shooting when they removed them but even when they were there installed it was still the same problem.

the building wiring always coming back fine. even next door is expierencing problems.

what should wdo? i spent my entire day on this. aready 11 business days GONE. this

after nearly 4 weeks they confirm its a problem with their hardware on the other end. I have told them many times its affecting several buildings near by and they should look into it.They need a few more weeks to fix it.

I am not sure how shaw can let 100 companies in downtown that have cable internet allow such slow speeds for so long
