2Valve0: By all reports, from every game, at the very least 30-40% of men who play an mmo will have a female character as their main. Examples on this board alone include myself (look at my sig), Zewind (female elyos templar in Aion), and many others.

It's not so much a step backwards in the sense that they are wanting men to play men and women to play women, but in the sense that they are attaching social labels to the men that decide to play female toons. I am not a transexual, nor am I even in the slightest bit homosexual, yet by that company's definition, I could and would be labelled as both because I enjoy playing female avatars. THAT's the step backwards.

To be honest, the reason I choose to play females in MMO's kinda is because I don't wanna be staring at man-ass all the time I'm playing it.

However, the reason I linked the article is because of, as I stated, the wildly inaccurate social stigma that the company is labelling people with. If a company did something like that in North America, it would have a boycott and possible legal action on its hands so fast they wouldn't even feel the whiplash.
