    Default Consumer Reports' 2009 Annual Car Reliability Survey: Ford Secures Place Among World'

    More good news for Ford. Not so much for Chrysler.

    Some Japanes brands with some slip-ups including Lexus & Subaru (no surprise the WRX is the lowest ranked car in it's class as they have been plagued by issues);

    Even good brands falter. Among the least reliable vehicles in their respective classes are the all-wheel-drive Lexus GS, the Nissan Versa sedan, and the Subaru Impreza WRX.

    I'm sure Ford's powerstroke problems dragged them down quite a bit too.

    Should be fixed next year too *knock on wood*

    So I went from a VW GTI to Subaru WRX.

    Wonder what I should buy next? Land Rover maybe haha. My goal is to prove these things wrong every year

    Was your GTI not reliable?

    GTI was fine. I only had it for 26,000 kms and never had any issues. Had I kept it, I probably would have the mechatronics unit replaced under warranty in the near future as it was starting to make the DSG shift a bit rougher.

    So far I have 2600 km on the WRX and no signs of any problems with the motor. Let's hope they resolved that issue for good.

    But it's on a 2 yr lease and I highly doubt I will keep it past that.

    I wouldnt hesitate to buy a Ford product now if I was in the market, but I wish they would bring some of the european models over here.

    The subaru wrx is only based on the first month build of the 2009 model which had a huge refresh, Subaru North America put a stop sale on the car for a bit due to engine failures, but the problem has been fixed and only affected the first two months, so that chart is inaccurate.

    Actually they didn't issue a stop sell for the 09's. The stop sell was in April 08 for 08 models. Hundreds of 09 engines were replaced under warranty. That's not the only issue though. Driveline noise, paint, interior rattles, rev hanging, lots of complaints. Problems are problems regardless of the timeline so the chart is accurate.

    Yea they did put a temporary stop sale, I ran into that problem when looking for a wrx earlier this year... now I just bought my 09 after all the problems were fixed. Paint quality is crap though...holy orange peel.

    Chrysler and Cadillac are the only two brands that don't have a single model above the average. That's brutal, but Volkswagen has the biggest variation.

    Someone explain Porsche's results to me. Cayman is their best model and the Boxster is their worst...but they are basically the identical vehicle!?!
