i closed the hood on my 84 jimmy, i just finished with the motor, the cable wont release the hood, I cannot open it again. Is there anyway to get in without ripping apart the whole truck again?

try going thru the grill if you can get to the latch, or from underneath if there aren't any covers/guards in the way.....

what am i supposed to grab through the grill? i can get a hold of pretty much everything, i have the grill undone. i tried pulling the release cable, did nothing, grabbed the release handle and nothing. its messed.

did you disconnect the cable from the latch? Try pulling the cable in diff. directions thru the grill area, or maybe your handle is broke. If thats the case, remove the cable from the handle/release inside the car and then try pulling on the steel cable with pliers or visegrips...

Not sure how these things are set up, But is it possible to un-bolt the latch assembly to get the hood open again?
