Where to buy olympic weights

I am looking for Olympic plates. Tried Kijiji no luck. So where would I find the best price for plates in calgary.

Best bet would probably be Fitness Depot. By far the cheapest place I have found to buy weights.

Last time I checked they were $0.34/lbs

^^^ you must have checked a long time ago. They're $0.88/lb

^^^ was about a year ago when I picked up a couple more plates. That's a steep increase. They're almost to the point of competing with the stupid prices at every other fitness equipment retailer.

fitness depot has been $0.88 for a while. They sell them for that price at their used equipment stores (Boomerang) as well.

It's rare to find used plates for less than $0.50/lb

just gave them a call. I'm shocked at that price. Thankfully I got my gym finished when it was reasonable.

About a year ago China stopped exporting as much steel as they had been, thus causing the increase, most Chinese steel is low grade, thus being perfect for making weights.

Even on Kijiji the prices are stupid, people wanting $1/pd for used weight. Most people are not willing to go lower than .70 these days.... Making it hard to get enough weight for the gym without buying new
