Default Anyone else ride to work today?

I did. And it was almost spiritually uplifting to not have to ride the soul-sucking morass that is public transit. From Coventry Hills to DT, about 15 minutes with traffic.

The nice smooth roar of the engine.. the cool brisk breeze. The quick response of the bike.

Yes.. it's shaping up to be a good day.

It was a bit too cold when I left for work this morning, but it's supposed to be 10-12 tomorrow, so I'll definitely go for a ride before putting the bike away.

I just got back from vacation - how are the roads? Did we get a gravel dump lately?

Nah.. no gravel on the road at all. They're clean and dry.. and now I'm looking forward to the ride home even more.

I thought about it this morning, I thought really hard. I can handle the cold temp no problem. There was just a little too much sheen and not quite enough glisten to the roads. Maybe in another week when it gets a little drier.

I'm stuck in North Dakota where it is cold and everyone seems to be fat 'n useless.

I tried to get my bike out this weekend, off ramps at the office seem like they are gravel instead of paved.

    Made me sad

I live downtown, so there's still too many shaded areas that are sketchy with ice/gravel.

Tomorrow is another day off for me, so I'll probably spend most of it on the bike, maybe go to banff or whatever.
    Suppossed to be 11 again.

Man, NOTHING beats the winter blahs like a nice warm day on the bike. (I wish we had dancing smiley emoticons)

I was out on Saturday and the weather was fantastic, I avoided deerfoot at all costs and cruised Stoney Trail from spring bank all the way back up to Country Hills. No gravel at all.

Saw a few guys out riding the past week.

+1 for having balls to ride while gravel is still present.

Yeah I had to walk it until I got onto the road. So yesterday I left it out on my front street so I wouldn't have to do that again.

Same here.. just wear good footing so you dont slip. I left my kickstand down, and walked the bike on the right side, so if it slips a bit, it'll fall on its kickstand, otherwise I got it.
Just take it slowly so nothing happens.
