It's just like the iPhone, free GPS usage with Google Maps or BlackBerry Maps. BB Maps even tracks your speed too.

So my contract with rogers ends in less than 10 days
I want the BB Bold 9700
Who should i get it from? I'm not crazy about contracts but if need be i wont mind
What about wind?
Rogers again?
Telus?
Bell?

If you like Rogers, then stick with Rogers. Phone into L&R and see if they can come up with a special retentions plan for you.

Bell and Telus both have a larger 3G network than Rogers. It isn't just advertising, it is the truth. You can get 3G is place Rogers just can't touch.

If you travel outside of Calgary/Toronto regularly I would say avoid Wind. Right now they only have coverage in those two areas and its going to be a slow process to expand. Also Wind only runs AWS so unless Apple creates and AWS iPhone you will not be able to have an iPhone on Wind.

How good are these retention plans?

I won't be leaving Calgary or have an iPhone but I would definitely still like having the option just in case which is putting me off Wind a bit.

Depends how long you have been with Rogers, how much you spend a month, if you pay your bill on time, etc.

They can be very good.

Phone in and see what they can do for you before you switch

I would love to, but i cant seem to find a camera in my house.
when i do i will take a pic. i sorta ruined it, cuz i got glue on the bottom of the bezel
