It is supposed to be the:

BlackBerry Bold 9700

Over the Bold 9000 it has:
3.2 mp camera
touch sensitive track pad
624 mhz Processor (Very snappy device)
90 grams (Bold 9000 was 130 grams)
Closer to the Tour 9630 or Curve 8900 in size than previous bold.

This is essentially the best BlackBerry to come out ever. Previous BlackBerry's always made concessions somewhere:

Curve 8900 had a great keyboard, and camera, no 3G.
Tour 9630 had a great keyboard, and camera, and 3G, but no Wifi
Bold 9000 had a great keyboard, 3g, wifi, shit camera

The 9700 has, a great keyboard, wifi, a great camera, 3g, and the trackpad.

The best of EVERYTHING that RIM has to offer in its traditional BlackBerry form factor (Read: Not Touchscreen)

Just saw it now on Rogers. Very pricey though if you have to buy without doing a 3 year contract. One interesting thing to note is the new bold 9700 sells for $600 on no contract, while the original bold 9000 is still listed as selling for $650 on no contract. Very weird.

I wonder if Rogers is going to offer the storm 2 (9550) at some point or not. I thought they would of offered it by now as I've heard rumors circulating over the last while about a possible rogers release. But you can never be too sure with rumors.

Like the Bold, I'll wait for it to drop in price and get it for $99 through Retentions.

Looks hella sweet though! Hopefully someone will think of a mod to switch the Bold trackball to that pad.

I don't know how scrolling will be efficient in that small space. The pad requires a big space, I think, to efficiently use it and that's why the iPhone rules in that aspect. The ball works in small, enclosed spaces and scrolling via the trackball is WAY easier when you have little room to move.

Then again, I haven't tried the trackpad on the new Bold so what do I know?

I don't know I still like the old bold better. I mean I like how it's all shiny and black and looks very nice (in that kijiji add) but I am sure you can do that to the other bold by changing the housing. Other than the camera I don't see any real advantages.

i still like my bold too,

im iffy on this upgrade because of the track pad, i have to try it out before i can make the purchase.

but the reason why i want it is the new processor.

faster processor than the bold and obviously the camera.

some others might be interested in the 9700 as it runs the bb os 5.0 from factory.

my bold is running os 5.0 and seems good but meh i could always upgrade hehe
