This and the 9000 have the exact same 624mhz processor.Originally posted by GQBalla
i still like my bold too,
im iffy on this upgrade because of the track pad, i have to try it out before i can make the purchase.
but the reason why i want it is the new processor.
faster processor than the bold and obviously the camera.
some others might be interested in the 9700 as it runs the bb os 5.0 from factory.
my bold is running os 5.0 and seems good but meh i could always upgrade hehe

rogers at crossiron mills has a bunch of these in along with the white 9000.
True they have the same processor but the 9700 has twice as much RAM as 9000. This means there is a much much lower chance of memory leak and you can ran more programs simultaneously.
You can buy the white housing for the 9000, except the white LCD is sexy!
White LCD? What exactly is that? I am thinking of getting a full white housing for my bold.
It's not like there's a lot of apps for BlackBerry anyways...Originally posted by TC06

If you have a Bold/Curve/Tour already, you don't gain much by switching. Sure you get a new camera, optical trackpad, & new form factor. But at the core of it all, it's still the exact same BlackBerry experience as a Bold/ Curve/Tour, etc. OS 5.0 on the 9700 doesn't count as a + for switching, because you can already get OS 5.0 for all the existing handsets. I've been running my Bold on it for 3 weeks now, and it really doesn't feel that much better than 4.7.
I'll keep using my Bold until it breaks, then hopefully the Bold 10,700 will be out with a complete overhaul, then I'll get that.
On a side note, how do I check what version my Bold is and if not 5.0 how can I update?

The link on that website for the download of file doesn't work? Also is it easy to do it...instructions I can follow somewhere? Just checked my phone has 4.6 on it.
It's a pretty nice phone. I don't really know what to do with my month to month with bell. I'm still waiting it out and waiting for those new companies to eventually come.

GO FLAMES GO!
The LCD unit is two pieces, the outer LCD and the actual screen. They are glued together and it is 99.99% impossible to separate them without fucking up the actual screen.Originally posted by shakalaka

So when you install the housing the LCD will be black and not white.
Wind will eventually launch and I think I'm going to cancel Rogers and get my 9700 from Wind.
why not go with telus?Originally posted by TC06

Or Bell, it's cheaper on Bell, $229
Globalive/Yak/Wind could be saved with as little as a $150 million investment from a Canadian company/person.Originally posted by 403ep3

My first thought was Shaw should really get in on this. Since they already purchased a bunch of spectrum.

SOB I thought the bold would stay the "best blackberry" for awhile. Nice looking phone though. I wonder how the track pad feelsOriginally posted by dino_martini
It is supposed to be the:
BlackBerry Bold 9700
This is essentially the best BlackBerry to come out ever.
I love the feel of the trackpad. The phone first comes with the track pad sensitivity cranked up to 100% waaaaaaaaaaaaay too sensitive. You gotta tone it down to like 1 er 2% or something around there. Once there, it feels exactly like the ball. Very easy to track your way around the menu and browsing. I love it, love the size, the keyboard, the backing (i dont like the leather backing on the bold).
BUT NO! I'm not getting sucked into the bbm world. MUST RESIST!
you cannot resist the BBM world forever.
