Before I jump and make this purchase, lets say I synced my contact with windows address book with my iphone and it's saved there. Can I do that with the Bold and sync with the same address book? I hate...that you cant save it on your sim card.

I ran past the Toyota display and when they asked why I was running through I said it was because I couldn't stop. Hahaha.
Just got one today from Tbooth. I still prefer the N97 over this.

It'll take you some time to adjust if it's your first BlackBerry - I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical with my first BlackBerry long ago... now I'm the company's BlackBerry guru.Originally posted by kaput
I just got a curve 8330 on Telus today. It's my first bb and first smartphone so maybe I'm not used to them but I don't like it very much. Is this new 9700 a lot better, or are bb's not for me? What is improved?
The 9700 is hugely impoved over that Curve you have. Higher resolution screen, faster processor, newer OS, full 3G/HSPA support, Wi-fi with support for UMA (Rogers TalkSpot), better screen, better speakers, no trackball (uses a touchpad), better camera, etc.

Never had a blackberry before and got the 9700 from Telus for about a week now. I got used to it already in a day or so and love it. Still haven't tinkered with the speed dial stuff but don't think I need to.. Also, I don't have enough friends that have Blackberries that I would use Blackberry messenger often.
north hill rogers plus should have a few bolds left. they had just replaced mine! =D

Ugh.. Ive been waiting for a week to get one form Rogers.

Your company gave you the shaft. The 8330 is about 2 OS generations behind now.Originally posted by kaput
How about in terms of the software/interface? I find navigating on this thing is painful, and the browser fucks up every page it displays. Is that normal for bb's? The way it's working right now feels like a first gen iPod that was cool in 2000 but a laughable POS today.
The BB browser is the suck, but it works well enough to do the basic. Download Bolt browser, and that will format most pages correctly.
Are you getting yours through the mail? did they give you a tracking number? your better off just walking into a store and seeing if they have them in stock than waiting for one to be shippedOriginally posted by R-Audi

That's only half true. Rogers does not allow the 9700 to work with their TalkSpot service.Originally posted by dizzle

No idea why. But the 9700 is a UMA-ready device. From what I'm reading, it has something to do with Rogers' not being able to hand off UMA -> 3G and vice versa.

Not sure if anyone else had this happen but, my camera appeared to not be saving any pictures last night. Turned out, I needed to repair the media card and all the pictures appeared. Strange why this happened but simple fix I suppose.
