Default Mount Royal University gets accepted into AUCC

Mount Royal University is now an official university since it has been accepted into the AUCC. There will no longer be doubts as to whether MRU degrees will transfer to other universities. However, this doesn't make an applied degree granted in the past transferrable to a masters program. This is a big step for the people earning degrees in pyschology, business etc. at MRU who will want to continue their education at other universities. As a business student, its big bonus for people who will later want to pursue an MBA after earning a BBA from MRU.

I knew this was a long time coming, and although I don't attend MRU its a big step that I'm glad to see them take.

From what I understand applications for Fall 2010 is the last time that Mount Royal will only look at your top two marks.

I just hope they aren't going to let anyone in to get a degree who doesn't deserve it.

I'm glad MRC finally got something going though Calgary is moving up!!

If that isn't true, then Student Services lied to me.

Thats good at least we have two "university level" establishments in Calgary.

For a city of calgary's size its ridiculous to only have U of C.

Look at ottawa as of 2006 statcan census they had just over 800k population and they have 3 Universities:

Carleton, U of O, Universite de Quebec Ottawa Campus.
