Came to work this morning and most buildings were close. The Ctrain was dead. When did today become a holiday that people took off? Maybe because I work for a US company. they seem to care more about money. lol.

Remembrance Day is a stat now, so pretty much everyone gets it off. That said, I'm at work...
I'm working too. I guess the Forzani Group figures that since we get family day off, we don't get to take time out to remember those who died for us...
^ Thats Bullshit, we had family day off too! I have to work too. Although im going to pay my respects at a few graves today, so I only work a half day.
working too in lieu of sometime during xmas
is downtown parking free today?
At work. Canadian O&G private company. We get Dec29th off instead. Basically, the year's holidays are manipulated to get Dec 24-Jan2nd off.
Man, if rush hour was only like today. I cut my commute time by like 90%.
I'm working today and taking Friday off. I feel guilty about it because this is one of the stats that actually has meaning behind it for *all* Canadians.
I will still give my silence at 11am and vets still get my respect every other day of the year. Unfortunately, there are others who think 1 day of rememberence means they can forget about the vets every other day of the year.
Today gives me an opportunity to catch up on paperwork and not be interrupted. Anyway, back to work!
Street should be free. Parkades should be $2-$3.Originally posted by taemo

Yup...that's just like our company. Work today for another day off at Christmas. There are people here who are choosing to take today off instead, but not me as I can still remember the fallen soldiers while working and will take part in the 2 minutes of silence at 11am.Originally posted by mr2mike

Yep, companies we do after hours work for all took today off, so we are covering everything for them all day.
We were to work today... But we got's us a new prez/ceo recently - apparently he believes in rememberance day...
So we get the 24th in lieu plus today Pondering taking the little one down the the cenotaph for rememberance day...
