Tatoos and Bodybuilding - homophobes beware

Spelling error in the title, whoops...

I'd like to start a discussion about tattoos and their place in bodybuilding.

I've added some images of this guy "Joey Gloor"
and anywhere on the net where his images show up there are debates about whether the tattoos were a good move or a bad move.

so two parts, do you think in the case of this example, do you think they work? and second, in the case of bodybuilding in general, do tattoos jive with bodybuilding?

Tattoo's normally detract from BB from what I know, as it takes away the symmetry. It also takes away from what the judges are trying to pay attention/look for.

Also, I'd imagine once all the tan is put on, the tattoo would look extremely weird/half visible/uneven if tan is not put on perfectly. Which would probably make the tan look unnatural, and detract from what the judges are looking for.

Most pros don't have any. The only successful BB that I can think of that has them is Lee Priest.

I was going to mention Lee Priest as well, with his superman obsession...
Even for modeling it's hard to believe that it could benefit your career in any way.

You can tell just in those two pictures how much muscle definition he lost.

I have to think that large scale tatoos like this guy has must have a negative affect on his BB appearance. It's too much of a distraction.
