then you spend $20,000+.... and still have a 20 year old car... you can buy mine and find out though if you want..... full cage, fia approved buckets and harnesses... rb25....Originally posted by ..*JDM Hatch*..
.but what if you freshin the car up,motor rebuild, new turbo...etc???
gtr=rb26.... rb20s are not necessarily the headache (they just suck).... the headaches come from the car breaking down once a month and dumping almost a mortgage payment into them every month... i was actually looking forward to winter so i could park mineOriginally posted by ..*JDM Hatch*..

It is not like i am looking for a race car,or something to drive the shit out of,but i am just looking for a decent little car,i am not looking for a GTR where they haul ass,i want something with a little bit of pep to it,but not anything stupid...and i Don't have a problem with spending some money on my car,i'm not an idiot who buys a stock Skyline and goes out and buy's a boost controller and tries to run 18lbs out of a stock turbo....then blows it and Eff's the car up and says' "oh what a POS"Originally posted by ercchry

I am just looking for an opinion from someone that is not a ricer and tries to race at every light that i stop at...etc.I just want a nice clean ride to have,I have driven Skyline's quite a few times, and out of them all i like the R32 Gts-t's the best...including GTR's not a big fan,i hate AWD.

How much money you got? Better cars for the money, especially if you think you're gonna rebuild motors and get new turbos. My friend has an R32 and it was always breaking down. Break it out for summer and half the summer he was driving his winter car because it was in the shop all the time. And they aren't a little car by any means and not that quick either. Get an MR2 if you want something quick and small.
ummm hi, i would be the opposite of a ricer... my car was only driven from my house to track and back once every other week running 10psi on rb25....
if you want a decent little a to b car get a kia
personally i find much more joy in driving my 4000lbs V8 infiniti around then that stupid skyline... heated seats, power eeevverrr thing.... leather....

Not looking for an MR2,quite ugly little things, and i know they aren't "little" by any means, but i think they are good looking cars in my opinion. As for money wise,i have enough to get by + sum.But 1 question is,How does your friend drive his R32??? drifting and sh*t like that??? i am not looking to drift, circuit, time attack,etc....I am just looking for something to drive, not like a douche.Originally posted by psycoticclown

I want to know what all breaks on these things, just by driving it normally.Like just because someone buys a Skyline, they automaticaly think that they have just purchased a race car.Not the case at all. This is why i want to know what breaks and Eff's up all the time?

well for starters it is a 20 year old car... that probably sat in japan for a period of its life, so everything that is made of rubber will be dry/drying up and cracking... which means leaks.... lots of leaks, coolant, oil.... hell even gear oil....
chances are it will have this weird japenese musk to it too... only way i got rid of it was by stripping all cloth out of the car and adding fresh seats...
also for some reason they are not huge on oil changes in japan... so you will probably end up with some sludge in the pan, and some worn out engine parts.... rebuilds are ideal... but too damn expensive for a car worth $5g
if it has factory suspension chances are that will be well worn....
