    Default Brightest Halogen Bulbs

Searched through the old Beyond threads and this hasn't been talked about for a couple of years.

Looking to replace my stock Headlight Halogen Bulbs with something Whiter and Brighter.

I've read about Sylvania Silverstars but they don't seem to be all that they're hyped up to be and they don't last very long for a $60 pair. I'm looking for something that gives the look of a 4300 HID Bulb but maybe with a slight Blue tint.

So with all the new bulbs that have come out within the last couple years, What's the Brightest and Whitest Halogen Bulb out there?

Usually halogen bulbs that are much whiter are also rated at a higher wattage, more watts=hotter

Ive seen people put 100W bulbs in their headlights making the plastic covers get deformed from the heat.

Getting the 65W blue tinted bulbs is a waste of money IMO save up a few bucks and just buy projectors and hids.

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.

I ran these bulbs for 3 years and just blew my first bulb, they worked quite well and were noticably brighter and whiter than my stock bulbs. That said I used to get flashed quite often on the highway.

    What is your headlight application?

If you have a 9005 or 9006, the brightest halogen you can get is the Toshiba HIR, as pointed out.

If you're on anything else, probably Nighthawks (not the new ones with the blue coating).

    Silverstars are crap.

You DO NOT want anything with a blue tint. Any kind of tint or coating on the bulb will rob it of precious light. Real HID is just inherently whiter/bluer and usually propagated by the design of the housing itself. But at the same time, HID has a much worse color rendering index - i.e your eyes are much more comfortable with the yellowish halogen light vs. the whiteness of HID. And most of the time, light might look brighter when it's got a bluish tinge to it, but it isn't. Don't be fooled.

    My 2 cents...
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
