On my flight home i saw a commercial that advertised a company called black to business, basically they help black people get into the business work force and start businesses. Is it not racist that they only help people based on their skin color instead of people that just need it. If you opened a store and only served white people you'd be branded a racist and probably get your shop burned down so why are they allowing shit like this?

Yes it is. In my eyes anyways. If there was a business helping whites start up we'd be labelled much worse than racists.

i once had a quest speaker in my equality class tell me that, she said only a white person can be racist, if a black person did something "racist" it would be instead called racial discrimination,

ie white person lynches a black person=racism
black person lynches a white person=racial discrimination

It's kind of like Affirmative Action in the US. Helps the disadvantaged visible minority folks get jobs so the workforce has a representation similar to the population.

In this case, black-owned businesses are at a disadvantage so that's probably why this program was started. These stores don't just serve blacks only (or whites only for that matter) so this is not racist. It's about the proprietor, not the customer.

I mean I realize they got it bad...But let's face it their ancestors were slaves...So they come from Africa where aids, poverty, unsafe water, rape, murder is all normal and part of daily life...Are made slaves for a while (which sucked) and now they have all these things to help them.

Don't confuse racism with race descrimination. This is a clear example of the latter.

They are not putting DOWN whites, asians, or anyone else. But they are only HELPING people from African-American heritage.

Personally, I think this is just like the black award shows as well. If other races want full equality (which I agree with), there has to be FULL EQUALITY.... in ALL respects.

Until that happens, these black-only programs are only keeping them more segregated from the rest of society.

This double standard pisses me off. The concept of a race-only program is just retarded.
