Default Who do you bank with? I'm looking for a new bank

I'm with CIBC right now but I'm really unhappy with their service. I won't disclose all of the details because it's of a sensitive nature, but the bottom line is that CIBC gave out my personal information without my permission. I'm not impressed with how freely CIBC will give your account information (balances, etc.) to people who are not even listed on your account...

I'm looking for a bank that does not have a monthly fee if I maintain a minimum monthly balance. Does anyone here have an account like that? If so, then which bank are you with?

    Thanks.

I used to be with CIBC but switched to TD early this year. My mother works at CIBC which was the reason behind my switch(didn't want her knowing my financial information.) I've been happy with TD and they made the mistake of giving me a lot of available credit

Most of their accounts have no fees if you maintain a healthy balance.

Superstore (PC bank) sucks. sure there are no fees but its fucking impossible to get you money out as they dont have any branches, only ATM's in stores. They are backed by cibc, but that doesnt help. I tryed to buy a car once and had to take daily trips to the ATM to pull out the max ($1000) cause the guy wanted cash. they also have a 1 week hold on checks. that gets anoying too. I recommend not banking with them. but its your choice

I use Superstore for the Mastercard (get 100 bucks in free groceries every 6 months or so), ING for any real savings (easy to transfer, better than nothing interest) and TD Canadatrust for morgage and normal main account. No fees if you keep 1500 in it. CT has great online banking so I'm happy. I think they have some good student bank rates.

I disagree. i like PC financial. you can pull out money at ANY cibc atm and NOT get a service charge... last i checked 7/11 has cibc atm's and they are everywhere. plus interac is free, cheques are free, and you don't need a min balance.... gotta love that!
if you don't do direct deposit they hold your cheques for a week but who cares budget your money or get an overdraft of $500.
i use their bank for everyday stuff but i wouldn't have a mortgage with them.

My cheques clears in 2-3 business days, and I get $500 cash advance everytime I make a deposit.

    superstore is actually cibc yo.

i used to work at td, which is why i bank with them. overall i like them cuz they are very customer service oriented, their fees are ok as long as u get the right account (the csrs will help u find the right account) and their web banking is kickass!
