Inspired by Rage's flat black thread I was wondering if it was possible to get a car wrapped in a certain color and again in 3m to prevent it from wearing down. Does anyone know any good shops that can give me a quote on this ?

If you're going to pay for it twice, why not just rewrap it when it wears down, if it even happens.

This
Plus you do realize double wrapping would cost like 12,000-14,000 probably.
Hell, I'm not certain why people wrap in the first place - if you have a (competent) painter friend, you can repaint your car with a quality, show finish (no orange peel, plenty of clear left to work with) for probably 4-6,000; less if you help with the prep work.
As a buyer, I would MUCH rather have oem paint than aftermarket paint, even if the finish is identical. So I can see why there's incentive to wrap an entire car when its brand new.
I love how people comment when they have no clue what they are talking about.
The actual term you are looking for is lamination.
The roll of vinyl in whatever color you choose is mated with a dry laminate of similar stretching properties and put through a dry laminate machine to merge them.
It is a single wrap process, one time deal.
The laminate is usually about half the cost of the color vinyl.
To have the roll laminated you are looking at about 60-100$ labor for someone else to run it through their machine.
@ the above posters.
Any of the corporate advertisement wraps you see around the city are all "double wrapped" (laminated) because they are put through a printer which lays ink on top of the vinyl and is easily rubbed off or washed away with solvent of any kind (ie gasoline).
They are all laminated.
Also, this is in the wrong forum
Car Care, Detailing and Body Work
Vinyl Wraps, Paint Care, Dent Removals, etc.

Hey emo Wrap Police, it's a good thing you pointed out the erroneous placement of the thread within the forum, I for one will sleep better tonight.
I'm glad you had so much to offer this thread.Originally posted by ZorroAMG

At least my post wasn't an information void troll post.
Sleep well troll...
You are right, my post didn't help - the annoying nasal tone of your post was worse in my opinion, Miss Drescher.
