what do you cats think of Dairy Queen food?

hey, so i haven't had food from DQ since the early 1990s (it was my first job so I ate it all the time ), but saw the pictures on the signs in there a few weeks ago when we were getting blizzards and decided to give it a try for lunch today.

i got the 1/4 lb. flame thrower combo, and i'm still trying to decide if I liked it or not. All of the ingredients and everything seemed really high quality - the bacon, the leaf lettuce, etc. etc. etc. - however the burger tasted burnt but when I looked it totally wasn't. that was weird cause I don't know how you get that flavour without burning the meat. Also, the fries tasted really funky/burnt too... maybe because they haven't changed their fryer oil in 309845902384 years?

Anyhow, does their food always taste like that, or was it maybe the location that I was at? this was the heritage and elbow location, BTW.

Also, I thought the price was REALLY expensive for fast food. It came to $18 for two burger combos.... and they weren't upsized or anything cause we're not fucking fatasses haha. actually, they do give you a shitload of fries/rings and neither of us could finish all of our food.

I also noticed that their chicken strip basket comes with brown gravy when i worked there, it came with white gravy and texas toast, and was fucking awesome. that was in the states though, so i don't know if they still make it that was there or not.

Their food is over priced, and tastes like ass, nothing new. Go to dairy queen for the overpriced icecream not food

Depends on the location, some place its awesome and some places their skimpy as hell. But I notice at one location they cook the burger for a bit and then nuke it in the microwave

they must do things way different in canada than in the states, cause when I worked there is was actually pretty good. i worked the grill and everything was made fresh to order, etc. i mean we would cook burgers from frozen when ordered. maybe it was just our location?

we used to make ourselves "pickle burgers," which had a bun, about 3/4" layer of pickles, a single burger patty, another 3/4" layer of pickles, mayo, and the top bun. it was FUCKING AWESOME hahah

I dont get food there too often. When I do the burgers arnt bad but are expensive and not as good as other places, but their ice cream is excellent.

I dont mind getting their food every few months.

I always get the entire burger pipping hot. They put it into the microwave with all the ingredients including the bun and it just makes u think when the burger was actually cooked.

Meh, i guess all those places are just as shady.

yeah MRU has the worst DQ ever, they are the most skimpy place ever and for some reason there pop seem to have like 10 x the caffeine in it.

I actually love their hamburgers always have. Not anything with cheese just their .99 cent burgers get a small onion ring and throw that on the burger..yummm. Very cheap meal on occasion and while on the run. However I won't touch ice cream just the burger and onion rings. They once upon a time had good chili dogs but then I got spoiled with Coney Island dogs.

the best fast-food-chain burger I've ever had was from the DQ here in Drumheller- a double bacon cheeseburger that for some reason ended up absolutely incredible

but usually they're ok- I was getting the chicken flamethrower for a period (also very good) but the last few have lacked the 'flamethrower' part, so I haven't had one for a while.
Love their onion rings though.

Go to the DQ Grill N Chill in Deerfoot Meadows. That is the best DQ in Calgary.

The DQ at MRU...fuck that place sucks.

Fries, onion rings and poutine are bomb at the madigan plaza location and they give you allot of fries and rings.
