Avenue Diner
Galaxie Diner
that show literally explains the reasons explaining why america is larger..
but really i've never been to a real diner here, i think the show is moreso showcasing mom and pop joints both ethnic and domestic, in that case it'd be places here like phil's (breakfast specifically ), a jewish deli, chicken on the way etc etc maybe the starlight in fairview?
the only things that really resemble diners around here imo are those truck stops in small towns in the middle of nowhere on the QE2 or transcanada.

Go to Boogies Burgers for the best burgers

Well imagine if instead of writing that letter to the editor, she just posts on a car forum for car enthusiasts. That's Kritafo.
seriously? I've driven by so many times and always wondered how their burgers were. I must now try if it has dj_rices approval
Their burgers are big. Last time I went was about 4 years ago, and it was good. The yam fries were tasty too.
Peter's Drive-In?

Yeah, I think it was a Keiths burger I ordered a few years back, sooo good, 2 patties, bacon, cheese, and a fried egg on top, and the spicy fries are yummy too, way better than Peters

Boogies is very good, but I wouldn't call it a diner.
Avenue diner is my favourite, and Diner Deluxe is second place in my books.
Both are excellent.

Yes that is true but the show is Drive-Ins, Diners and Dives, so Boogies falls under dives

keith's deli might be the closest this ambience-wise, but their menu is far to small and simplistic to be on there.
EDIT: and it doesn't just have to be a diner, it can be a drive-in or dive, too
peter's wouldn't make it cause their food sucks too much, is totally uninspired and unoriginal.
Oh, has it changed it's name? I haven't been there for a few years now... but I remember the food was pretty decent for a such a 'high class' establishment...Originally posted by know1edge
^ you mean north hill steakhouse & lounge?
I guess they've remodeled or changed owners or something...
Who could forget this sign on 16th?
+1 for diner deluxe. At least when it comes to breakfast foods. I really like their eggs Benedict. It can be pretty hard to get a seat sometimes though.Originally posted by ExtraSlow

No you guys are thinking of the same place. It's right by NAPA on 16th ave. I've heard they renovated and the food is pretty decent.
As for boogies, it seems way different now that Fay and Keith aren't there. I went once with the father and son team there and it was ok, but it wasn't the same food or experience. Might have to try it again next month.
+1 for Avenue Diner, their eggs benny is fucking delic! It's surprising when you get this green sauce on your eggs at first (I think it was some mint/basil concoction) but it's oh so good!
There is a burger place in Inglewood, right by the south zoo entrance that I've always wanted to try but haven't been there. I've heard the absolute shithole of a place called Deer Head Cafe is quite good but have yet to try it.
I've caught that show a couple times and for the better part of it, it's just grease fest. There was something that look pretty good though, hopefully someone will remember. They showed one place where they could start with a duck I think, then cover that with another meat, and lastly put all that into a turkey. This stuffed turkey was fucking monsterous!

Ultracrepidarian
North Hill diner AKA Steak House and Lounge was/is at no point a diner even if it had diner in it's name. It's just another family restaurant. It has no diner feel to it whatsoever. Diner Deluxe? Aside from the inclusion of the name "diner", there's just nothing diner about it. It's got too much of that try to be healthy/alternative shit to make it a real diner. The closest diner experience that I can think of without resorting to go to the U.S. is Route 99 Diner in Edmonton. Now THAT place is a real diner. You just need to go eat there once and realize what a real diner should be like.
You have a couple of photos that are great... you must be very good at photoshop!
Deer Head Cafe always has Black Town Cars parked out front. Maybe it's a mafia favourite?
Never been inside, but it looks really shitty. I'm tempted.
The Lions Den by the Elbow River Casino is pretty decent if you can put up with the owners jokes. Some people find it funny. My wife found it super annoying.
