Question about vehicle branding?

If a car was salvaged in the states and brought up to Canada, would it have a active or rebuilt title up here? Would it not have to have a salvage inspection then be branded as a rebuilt status? I tried checking Transport canadas website but it is down

That should tell you everything you need to know. The RIV does not brand vehicles and so it's your responsibility to get an American title check done. It would be inspected, but it just has to be determined that it is repairable and not flood damaged for it to be allowed into Canada.
