Unless you're an avid hunter or in a military type profession, you don't need to know how to fire a gun. Places like this should all be shut down. Too many wacko's in the world... even though this is a relatively isolated incident... this shows the potential for even worse tragedies.

Oddly, I just watched a video on Theync where someone in Europe did the exact same thing at a range. Good think the only person to witness it was the employee.

i saw this flaw in the way the system works over there when i went, even though the guy who briefs you has a loaded 9mm or w/e tucked in his pants 'just in case', there is no way possible at all that they could ever stop someone from doing this, rifle range was somewhat slower and more controlled but for the pistol part, if you're in a group big enough to fill all the stalls, they each give you a gun that you choose and a box of bullets beside each.

the in front of kids part, fken pos coward, they never asked for a probable lifetime of traumatizing flashbacks.
