    Default Ginger Beef Peking House

I have read they make the best peking duck in Calgary.. but I can't seems to find them.. Call their number... but it's out of service.. they are no longer listed in Sunridge Mall directory.. Any know where they have moved to? Or a place which has the best peking duck.

I was a regular at the sunridge Ginger Beef and know the owners. It's been more than a year since they closed down. As of now, the owners/cheifs have no plans to open a new restaurant.

I can honestly say that their peking duck, along with other food on their menu, was indeed the best in calgary. Not expensive either. They're also the only restaurant I know in calgary that carve the duck in front of you.

I've had peking duck at East Gate on 17th Ave SE and Peking Garden in Varsity. Both are acceptable, but not as good.

The one is brentwood is owned by different people. I've never ate there, so I can't comment.

I've been to all of the locations and the one in Willow Park is the best in the city IMO, although I've not had the duck. Best dumplings, and the GB is great. Brentwood is good as well. There's a GB express in Coach Hill that's good takeout but for eating in I'll drive all the way to Willow.

The Brentwood location has gone downhill. I took my mom there a month or 2 ago, and we weren't happy with the wrap shells for the peking duck. We were told "that's how it is", like I've never eaten it before. The duck was also way too dry.

There were problems with *every* dish we ordered.

    Ain't going there ever again.

So far the best Peking duck I've had was while working in Toronto, a place in Richmond Hill.

I could be wrong, but anything else you'd probably need to go to Beijing where they kill the duck in front of you, skin it, cook it, and serve it on a naked Asian girl on the table.

This!!! My gf and I regularly go there when we are feeling a bit peckish even though it's out of the way. Last time I went, I ordered this and we were the only people in the whole restaurant. I felt like I was ripping them off for $29.99 with the amount of food that we were given so I left them a $20 tip lol.

There used to be Shanghai Classic but they moved and changed names (Chengs??), not sure if the chef is still the same but I quite enjoyed their peking duck back in the day. I had peking duck in Beijing where you would think it would taste good but no, it was burnt, all fat and no meat, worst peking duck ever!
