    Default Another Vegas Noob Thread:

    Basic Details
    Date:Jan 25-29…Staying at MGM (Deluxe room-Deluxe Package)
Group: 3 guys, 3 girls, Avg age: 23
Cost of package: 4 Nights at MGM with Airfare – $406 taxes in.
Budget: Most of us want to spend ~1500 for the trip incld flight/hotel so that leaves us with 1100 to blow.

Out of the 6 of us, only two have been to Vegas before and that was with family so no one has really partied there. The rest of us booked mainly because it was cheap and it’ll be nice to get away for a week. None of us know what to expect, nor are any of us the ‘goto/clutch plan making type’ so I’m just going to ask beyond to help me out with a little ‘Must See/Must Do’ things.
I’ve searched through the treads and some are old some just went off track.

This is what we want to do:
    -Catch a few shows.
-Get hammered and hit up the clubs.
-Sober up with some solid food and shopping.
    Rinse & Repeat

Here are my basic questions, and feel free to chime in with whatever else you want to come up with.

-Our suite is at the MGM, should we ask to upgrade it? No idea what its like, or what they have but the group is willing it pitch in to get at least one crazy room.

-Getting into bars. One guy to one girl ratio usually isn’t great, will we have issues getting into bars? Which ones should we avoid and definitely hit up? Should we call in advance and get some sort of a package/bottle service? If so, who and how!?

-Shows: I’ve heard that you shouldn’t buy tickets in advance online for shows, rather you should wait and try to score cheap seats from scalpers. Any truth to this, or alternative ways to get a good deal.

-Gambling: Going to Vegas and not gambling seems like retarded but if anything, we'll prob just play with a $100 each.

-Shopping. I’m sure we can figure that one out, but anything that comes to mind that you have to check out?

I know so many noob questions, but any and all help is appreciated from the Vegas Veterans!

1.No need upgrading your room at MGM since you will not be in the room most of the time, but you can try to give a $20 tip when signing into your room and ask if they have any "free upgrades"

    2. If its 3 guys and 3 girls it shouldn't be a problem to get into clubs, what I would recommand is going the day of and talking to the VIP host @ the door of the clubs

Since you are with three girls, u should just buy 1 or 2 bottles for the 3 guys, then have the 3girls meet you inside and come to your table, since chicks can come to your tables but guys cant...

The bust clubs are XS, Tao, Tryst, Pure.... If you want to hit up the clubs without VIP service send a text msg to Steven @ (702.300.4116)

He works the playboy club/Moom/ Rain But He can get you into the other clubs as well

    3. If there is a show you MUST SEE you should buy the tickets in advance, but you can also buy them the day off at the corner of Bills Casino and there is one by circus circus, I think there is 1 closer to your hotel but I do not remember exactly where it is...

Again if you want better seats @ the show a $20 tip usually works

    4. A lot of people go and don't gamble, if you on a weekend the minimum bet will prob be $25 a hand at blackjack so you wont get to many hands in, but don't worry there is a shitload to see/do in vegas that you don't even need to gamble

    5. For shopping take a cab and go to the "Premium Outlet malls" off of the strip, you can google it to see what stores they have, but there is some pretty sweet deals, Don't go buying clothes on the strip, its a complete rip off and u can usually find the same shit @ the outlets

    http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=58

Enjoy your trip, and make sure you watch the meters in the cabs, those pricks will try to rip you off left and right...

Need pics of the girls to see if they'll get into the clubs, they are pretty strict down there.

    ya, kobe is right.
for the clubs, you 3 guys order bottle service (its usually 1 bottle minimum payment for every 3 people) then have the girls meet you in there. (maybe you can get the girls to call in advance to see if they can get in some sort of "girls only line")

i recommend watching some of the cirque du soleil. haha maybe it was just me but i had a great time watching it. performers were awesome. (we bought our tickets online at home before we went to vegas)

shopping at premium outlets. make sure you tell em Premium outlets, theres another outlet in vegas that doesn't have as many great stores.

if you play 100 each hopefully you can control yourself. i spent more than i wanted to gambling cause..its gambling haha its fun

O and Mystere was pretty good imo, and from what I have heard from friends, the rest (i.e. ka, zumanity and chris angel mind freak) you can skip.

You already made a mistake, bringing girls to Vegas. Go with your homies and have the best weekend of your life.

The OP is a smart man. He is bringing girls for a "just-in-case" situation. If he cant get a girl to stay over the entire night, hes got a back up.

If you don't really care which shows you want to watch (but still have possibility to see basically ANY show), there is a discount ticket booth place (many places along the strip) that sells day of or next day show tickets for up to 50%.

As others have said, premium outlets (the outdoor one) I found was slightly better than the outlet on the south end of the strip (indoor one). Although shopping on the strip in the "malls" wasn't too bad IMO, still ALOT cheaper than anywhere in Calgary/Canada for the same thing - plus alot better selection/less crowds.

Bingo. Worst case, nothing works out a few more drinks and let what happens be blamed on Vegas.

*Edit* Ugh so I just saw the room that we have booked: WestWing deluxe or something...looks brutal. Whats a good way to upgrade this since we're prob gonna be spending alot of time predrinking/sleepin off a hangover in there.

I googled the $20 trick and seems like alot of peeps have failed at it...maybe just call in and pay?

Has anyone stayed at or tryed the sandwich trick at the monte carlo? I looked on the net and it's like the worse place to try it lol..

I would try it at the MGM, you'll have a decent chance to get the upgrade.

Doesn't hurt to try. Although MGM has the lowest success rate. Worst thing that can happen is she'll hand you the $20 back and say "no sorry, there's no upgrades". Actually I guess the worse would be to keep the $20 and then say "no sorry" lol....but hey, no different then throwing a 20 on the wheel!!

I had two rooms booked at Mandalay. I thought $20 was a little cheap, so I put a $50 in there. She wouldn't take it for a long time...but spent about 10 minutes and found me two adjacent rooms on the 23rd floor looking straight down the strip!! Then thanked me for the "tip".

    success rate of $20 trick

The westwing rooms at the MGM blow. PS they only have king size beds with no spare room at all. If you're going with a homie, get ready for some bromance. lol

The rooms in the grand tower are bigger, nicer, and have different bedding options.
