You'll need to pay tax.... and you need to have new activation...on fido....plus need to be with them for 3 months...If you get the phone from fido...

yea for that much...
only if you want to go on a contract..

which i am pretty sure that most people dont like to!!!

it makes a whole difference....having a phone without any plan...gives u a lot more options than being on a contract....!!

no offence guys but this phone is worth quite a bit and quite frankly $50 is quite a good deal for this phone even though its locked. I you think about it, do you know why they subsidize phones? its because they make the money back on your plan that you use! Having not on a contract or a plan is a good thing because you can
1) use it on an exisiting plan
2) give it as a gift and no need to pay for monthly plan
3) don't even have to use the phone can keep it off a plan for a couple months and put it on when you want to use it!

and the phone is not free with fido for a 3 month contract.....it over all about 50 bux for the phone and like another 30 for the contract...so this is a good deal
