Thanks guys...

I believe all of the 4 cyl post 1999 in the accord had VTEC.
Thanks Sentry, I didn't realize Wiki would have stuff like that. Found what I was looking for:
F23A1
This engine was used in the 1998-2002 Honda Accord LX, EX, and SE, and in the Acura 2.3CL in North America.
Specifications
Bore × Stroke: 86.0 × 97.0 mm
Displacement: 2254 cc
Valve Configuration: SOHC, 16 valves, VTEC
Compression ratio: 9.3:1
Max power: 150 hp (112 kW) @ 5700 rpm
Max torque: 152 ft·lbf (205 N m) @ 4900 rpm
Thanks for everyone's response.
I read throught the VTEC entry in Wiki and understood part of it. Basically, VTEC optimizes the engine ouput based on 2 profiles? One profile would be the normal operating output, and another would kick in at higher RPM's to add more power? If anyone has a better explanation (in layman's terms) please add it in.

I had a 1998 Accord 4 cyl 5 speed, it did not have the vtec engine...great motor though. Made good power and got the craziest mileage!!!
750 in the city per tank, and 850 on the hiway
Honda/Acura guy
Yeah, VTEC has 2 cam profiles, one ismore aggressive and on its own the car wouldn't get the best mileage, so they have the low cam for most putting around town duties.Originally posted by freshprince1

doesn't almost every manufacturer have a version of variable timing now?
Beyond's Most Wanted
Pretty much yeah. Even the Americans have it on some of their engines.Originally posted by Tomaz
